Real Madrid's Jose Mourinho: It Is 'Normal' For Us To Qualify For Champions League Quarter-Finals

Mourinho believes that Madrid deserve to be among the elite eight teams in Europe this season.
Jose Mourinho is staying calm amidst the euphoria following Real Madrid's qualification to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in seven years and believes that it is expected for a big club like themselves to make it through.

Los Blancos defeated their French nemesis Olympique Lyonnais 3-0 in the second leg of their round of 16 clash at the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening to progress to the last eight 4-1 on aggregate.

Madrid finally broke their 'last 16 curse' to qualify for the quarter-finals and it is also their first win over Lyon in eight attempts, but Mourinho is not letting this get to his head.

"We are Real Madrid, it is normal for us to qualify for the quarter-finals," said the Portuguese after the match, according to Spanish sports daily Marca.

"It was a victory against a very good team, and I think that we deserved it. We deserve to be there [in the last eight]."
