Xavi has won yet another prestigious accolade.
Barcelona and Spain international midfielder Xavi has been honored with the World Soccer Player of the Year 2010  award.

The 30-year-old got 25.8% of the votes of the readers of the prestigious British magazine and narrowly beat team-mate Lionel Messi to the accolade. The Argentina international, who won the award in 2009, garnered 24.1% of the votes. Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta finished fifth while striker David Villa came seventh.

Barcelona themselves were rated as the third best team in 2010 by the World Soccer readers behind Spain's World Cup-winning team and last seasons' Champions League winners Inter.
