Hugo Almeida may be one of the rare bright spots in Werder Bremen's season, but the striker is reportedly nearing a move to his native Portugal.
According to a report from Bild, the 26-year-old striker is pursuing a transfer in January, with Sporting and Porto among his potential destinations.
Though Bremen will rue losing their most consistent striker this season, they may be forced to make a move. With an exit from Europe imminent and qualification for the 2011-12 Champions League rapidly becoming doubtful, the Hanseaten might be tempted to cash in on Almeida, who could leave on a free transfer in the summer.
