Report: Alberto Malesani appointed new Genoa coach

Genoa have appointed Alberto Malesani as head coach, according to the latest news emanating from Italy.

claim that Malesani, who led Bologna to Serie A safety this season, has signed a two-year deal with the Grifoni.

The 56-year-old will replace Davide Ballardini who was brought into the port-city club after Gian Piero Gasperini was sacked following a poor run.

The club have yet to confirm the move with an official announcement, but one is expected to follow.

Genoa finished tenth in Serie A this term.
