Juventus Striker Amauri Receives Italian Citizenship

The striker has sworn oath on the law and constitution of Italy and is now officially an Italian, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Juventus striker Amauri is eligible to play for Italy after he was granted full Italian citizenship on Tuesday, reports Sky Sport Italia.

The question now is whether he will be a part of the Azzurri squad that will travel to South Africa in less than two months.

Amauri swore oath on the Italian constitution and laws at municipal offices in Turin and he is now officially an Italian citizen alongside his wife Cynthia who received citizenship last year.

The Juventus man was delighted with his new found status, but took a cautious approach in relation to his Italy chances.

"I am very happy because today is the conclusion of a journey that started more than a year ago," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"I have always wanted to live this day. The other emotion is playing for the National team, but Lippi will think about this. I must focus on Juventus, and Lippi will make his choices. I am happy for the passport."
