Barcelona midfielder Aliaksandr Hleb could be about to scupper the Samuel Eto'o - Zlatan Ibrahimovic deal, according to reports.
Quotes attributed to Hleb in German paper Bild.de suggest he wants to remain in Barcelona, despite Inter president Massimo Moratti confirming the Belarus star is part of the Eto'o - 'Ibra' deal.
"I have a contract with Barcelona and am currently with the team. My goal is to enforce my place here, and achieve success with the club," Hleb is quoted as saying by Bild.de.
Hleb's comments come less than 24 hours after Moratti confirmed he was part of the mega deal. When asked by a journalist whether Hleb was being inserted on loan, Moratti replied, "Yes."
Reports claim Inter will receive €48 million for Ibrahimovic, plus Samuel Eto'o, and Hleb on loan for a year.
In an incredible twist to the constant developments surrounding the deal, Sky Sport Italia are speculating that Hleb could be part of the deal that saw Maxwell move to the Camp Nou last week.
Ibrahimovic's agent is reportedly with Inter chiefs at the club's headquarters this morning. Only a few details remain before the deal can be announced as official, but Hleb's quotes seem to raise questions over the move.
Monday is when the deal is expected to be announced as official by both clubs.
Update 12:36CET: The confusion surrounding the deal has now been cleared up. Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola has revealed Hleb is not part of the Eto'o - 'Ibra' deal.
"The deal is not concluded yet. There are still some details to discuss between Inter and Barcelona," Raiola told Sky Sport Italia.
"Hleb is not part of the Eto'o - 'Ibra' deal. He is part of the Maxwell to Barcelona deal."
