Arena: I Expect Beckham To Return From Milan

Beckham may be hopeful of staying in Italy, but his Galaxy coach expects the England international to return to California.
Los Angeles Galaxy coach Bruce Arena is expecting David Beckham to return from his loan deal at Milan on March 9, despite the midifelder's desire to stay in Serie A.

Milan have been locked in talks with the Galaxy over the possibilities of keeping the England international permanently.

As things stand, the clubs have failed to reach an agreement. Rossoneri vice president Adriano Galliani is still confident of swinging the deal in the Italians’ favour, but Arena has other ideas.

Landon Donavan is on loan at Bayern Munich and the American coach is keen on having both men back for the new season.

"At this point in time we are expecting both players back but there has been much more noise coming from the Beckham camp [regarding a transfer]," Arena said on Sky Sports News.

"We truly expect Landon to be back and there may be more discussions with the Beckham team this week but, at the moment, we expect both players back on March 9."

Earlier, Galliani revealed that Milan could reach a deal with the Galaxy by Friday.
