Director of Football Damien Comolli: Success attracting more players to 'project' at Liverpool

Reds chief believes club's success under Kenny Dalglish is making them an attractive proposition in European football and is targeting more trophy wins in the future
Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli believes the club’s triumph in the League Cup and their subsequent qualification for the Europa League will attract top players to Anfield.

The Reds won their first trophy in six years at Wembley on Sunday against Cardiff with a 3-2 penalty shootout victory following a 2-2 draw after extra time.

And the Frenchman, who recruited many of Tottenham's current stars during a spell in London, feels that success is just the start of the project on Merseyside.

"We already know that there are big players who want to join us next summer because they believe in the project," Comolli told Sky Sports.

"Everybody in Europe knows what Liverpool football club are trying to do.

"Obviously the fact that we're back playing in Europe and we've won the trophy, it's all positive things.

"There's a very positive vibe around the club around Europe. A lot players I know are very interested about joining the project because it's a very interesting project."
