Report: Real Madrid Considering Liverpool's Steven Gerrard

The Spanish club may throw more money about soon.

Real Madrid is looking to make a £30 million move for Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard this summer after another disappointing Champions League elimination, according to the Daily Star.

After bowing out of Europe's premier club competition in the second stage for the sixth consecutive season, Real Madrid are reported to be looking to add more quality, and have set their radar on the Englishman.

The 29-year-old might want a move from Anfield after experiencing a tough season so far with the Reds. Liverpool is currently in sixth place in the league, and were eliminated from this season's Champions League in the group stage.

Gerrard has a new contract that should see him remain at Anfield until 2013, but the lure of Real Madrid and Florentino Perez' ambitions could prove telling if they are to lure the Englishman.
