Bafana Bafana made heavy work in beating Kenya 2-0 in an international friendly in Rustenburg on Wednesday evening.
Davide Somma scored his first goal for Bafana after just two minutes, burying a cross from Anele Ngongca after running into the box and meeting the ball from an angle and slipping it in.
Steven Pienaar added a second on the stroke of half-time, scoring from Siphiwe Tshabalala's corner with a well-placed shot from just outside the box into the corner of the net.
The second half failed to spark as substitutions disrupted the flow of the game, but Bafana kept control of the match and did well to keep pressure on the Kenyans, although the finishing was poor.
Andile Jali was named man of the match after a fine commanding display in midfield, and the side will enjoy the confidence boosting effect ahead of the crucial Egypt clash in African Nations Cup qualifying next month.
