FC Dallas has announced the signing of former Real Salt Lake midfielder Javier Morales as a free agent.
Morales, 36, became a RSL legend over his 10 seasons spent in Utah. The Argentine scored 49 goals and added 81 assists in 240 appearances for Real Salt Lake since he joined the club in 2007.
Morales was named an MLS All-Star three times and helped RSL to a MLS Cup title in 2009 and the 2010-11 CONCACAF Champions League final, in which the club fell to Monterrey.
The presence of Morales should help FCD deal with the absence of playmaker Mauro Diaz for the first several months of the 2017 season while he recovers from a torn Achilles suffered in October.
