Sources have confirmed to Goal USA that English Premier League side Tottenham and the Seattle Sounders are finalizing details on a transfer for Yedlin worth between $3.2 million and $3.5 million, and if the final details can be squared away in the coming days, Yedlin will become the first member of the 2014 U.S. World Cup team to complete a transfer move.

According to sources with knowledge of the deal, Yedlin will finish the current MLS season with the Seattle Sounders before Tottenham makes a final determination on the 21-year-old’s next step in January. Yedlin could be loaned out to another European club or stay in London and push for playing time on the Spurs back line.
The transfer, which could be completed as early as Friday, would set an MLS record for a transfer by a homegrown player, surpassing the $2.5 million move Andy Najar made from D.C. United to Anderlecht after the 2012 season.
Yedlin would become the latest American to play at Tottenham, joining a list that features current Spurs goalkeeper Brad Friedel, Sounders teammate Clint Dempsey and former U.S. goalkeeper Kasey Keller.
