Levante confirmed on its official website that they have completed the free signing of Asier del Horno from Valencia.

The former Spain international spent the last season on loan at Levante, having seen his contract with Mestalla outfit terminated upon returning to the club at the end of the 2010-11 campaign.

Del Horno, who made 24 appearances in all competitions last term, has signed a one-year contract with the club, who finished 14th in La Liga last season.

The left-back joined Chelsea in 2005 after five years at Athletic Bilbao, but left for Valencia the following year. At the Mestalla, the 30-year-old was far from happy, having been loaned out to Athletic, Valladolid and Levante.
