OFFICIAL: Besiktas Sign Guti On Two-Year Deal

The former Real Madrid playmaker has agreed to Turkish move.
Besiktas have signed former Real Madrid midfielder Guti on a free transfer, the Turkish outfit confirmed on Monday. The 33-year-old has agreed to a two-year contract with his annual wages set at €2.7 million.

He is expected to undergo his medical with his new employers on Tuesday before putting pen to paper.

Guti announced his departure from the Spanish club on Sunday afternoon. The Torrejon-born player was drafted in the Madrid set-up when he was just nine years of age and made his debut for los Blancos in December 1995.

However, with the Merengues entering a new era under Jose Mourinho, Madrid and Guti decided that it would be in the best interest of both parties to go their separate ways. The departure was confirmed in a press conference on Sunday.

Spanish media had already claimed that Guti had a lucrative offer from Besiktas and the Turkish outfit has now formally confirmed on their official website that the three-time Champions League winner has joined the club on a free transfer where he will reunite with former coach Bernd Schuster.

Besiktas finished fourth in the Turkcell Super Lig in 2009-10 and will face Czech side FC Viktoria Plzen in the first-leg of their Europa League third qualifying round tie on Thursday.
