World Cup: Chilean Referee Forced Out Of Finals Due To Injury

FIFA make amendment to designated match officials.
Chilean referee Pablo Pozos Quinteros has been forced out of the World Cup finals in South Africa due to injury, with FIFA announcing replacement officials for his first assignment.

Pozos Quinteros was scheduled to referee the Group C game between Algeria and Slovenia at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday but injury has ruled him and his team of officials out of the contest.

Instead teh following officials will take charge at the game:

Referee: BATRES, Carlos Alberto (GUA)
Assistant Referee 1: LEAL, Leonel (CRC)
Assistant Referee 2: PASTRANA, Carlos (HON)

The fourth official in charge will remain unchanged: O LEARY, Peter (NZL)

In another change, Swedish referee Martin Hansson will officiate as the fourth official in the Group D clash between Germany and Australia on Sunday evening. Hansson attained notoriety for a series of refereeing blunders last year which included failing to notice Thierry Henry's handball in France's World Cup play-off win over Ireland last November.
