Julian Green leaves USA team with rib injury

U.S. national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has decided to send midfielder Julian Green back to Hamburg to continue his recovery from a rib injury.

Green trained with the team on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it was determined that he was not 100 percent heading into Friday's match against Ecuador at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut.

The USA roster is now at 21 players, with Chris Wondolowski being added to the squad on Tuesday.

The Ecuador game will serve as Landon Donovan's testimonial match. Donovan will wear the captain's armband and make his 157th and final appearance with the national team.
