US youth star Jared Jeffrey completed a move to Mainz 05 in the German Bundesliga on Wednesday according to the club's official site.
Jeffrey, who was one of the bright spots for the USA during the U-20 World Cup, signs from Belgian side Club Brugge and is on a contract that will run until 2012 with options to extend.
"He is very well educated and has a great understanding of the game," Mainz boss Thomas Tuchel said of his new midfielder.
"We look forward to him, he is a very talented player with potential for development."
Jeffrey has already gone through his first training sessions with the side and should be eligible for selection when the side returns to Bundesliga action in January.
