Mexico and Jamaica invited to 2015 Copa America

The CONCACAF nations will take part in CONMEBOL's continental championship, hosted in Chile next summer.
CONCACAF nations Mexico and Jamaica will take part in the 2015 Copa America tournament, CONMEBOL has announced.

Mexico was originally invited along with Japan, but after Japan and later, China withdrew, Jamaica was invited to take part in the tournament, which will be hosted by Chile.

The winner of the tournament will be awarded CONMEBOL's spot in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.

Mexico has already been named to the following year's 2016 Copa America Centenario, joining host USA as the automatic CONCACAF entrants. Jamaica could also qualify for that tournament through the 2014 Caribbean Cup or the 2015 Gold Cup.
