The club from Gaillard will feature in the French top flight in 2011-12 for the first time ever.

Evian have secured promotion to Ligue 1 after a 2-1 victory over 10-man Stade Reims for the first time in their history.

A late goal from Cedric Cambon helped secure the win for Bernard Casoni’s side, who are now guaranteed of a top-three finish in the French second division.

Evian, who are sponsored by fresh food group Danone, gained promotion to Ligue 2 from the National (third division) last season.

The Gaillard-based side have 64 points with just one more round of matches left this campaign and are two points clear of second-placed Dijon, who were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Boulogne-sur-Mer.
