Santos and Galatasaray have reached an agreement over playmaker Elano, which will see him return to his native country in January.
A fee of approximately €2.9 million will be paid by the Brazilian outfit, and should the 29-year-old change clubs again before December 31, 2012, the Turkish side will receive 50 per cent of the profits from the sale.
"Galatasaray have agreed to transfer to FC Santos Elano Blumer, as agreed upon at a price of €2.9 million," a statement on the Turkish club's official website read.
"The club has been grateful for Elano's services to Galatasaray and we wish him continued success in his footballing career."
Globoesporte earlier today reported that Santos officials landed in Istanbul on Saturday to talk with the Brazil international, who played for Manchester City before moving to Turkey. There, Elano agreed in principle a three-year deal with the club.
Earlier this month Elano told the newspaper he would love to return to his former club, for whom he made almost 150 appearances and helped the Peixe to win two national championships.
"I have a great desire to return home. It is logical that Santos is the club in which I feel most comfortable," the midfielder told reporters two weeks ago.
Elano joined the Turkish giants in 2009 on a four-year contract.
