En Route: FC Dallas Academy's Emerson Hyndman on trial with clubs in Spain

FC Dallas head coach’s grandson is absent from Dallas Cup as he trains with clubs in Europe this week.
FC Dallas Academy Director Oscar Pareja confirmed to Goal.com on Sunday that Emerson Hyndman was on trial in Spain.

“We hear that he is doing well,” Pareja said about Hyndman’s trials. The coach also mentioned that the academy was proud of Hyndman’s success in Europe especially showcasing the FC Dallas brand.

Hyndman, born in 1996, was conspicuously absent from the FC Dallas U-16 team when they kicked off play at Dallas Cup on Sunday. The 15-year-old has been one of the more consistent players on the Dallas youth academy’s roster this season with nine starts in 15 games.

Sources said that the talented player was absent because he was on trial with Mallorca. While Pareja declined to give specifics about the club, he did say it was in Spain.

Hyndman is the grandson of FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman. He has been in the public light for a long time as he has drawn interest for English clubs in the past  and been called the next star of American soccer.

Hyndman has played with the U.S. U-15 national team in the past and would be eligible for the next U-17 World Cup in 2013.
