Player Ratings: USA 1-3 Honduras

USA

Troy Perkins – 5
Wasn't left with a chance on any of the goals.

Marvell Wynne – 4
Spent a lot of time on the ball in attack but failed to do anything with it. As per usual, Wynne's defensive positioning was suspect to say the least.

Jimmy Conrad – 2
The lasting image from this game will be the USA's captain, on his knees under his goal, with the referee brandishing a red card. No matter how dubious the call, yanking on the shoulder of an attacker in the box is never a good decision, especially for someone with so much experience and already on a yellow.

Chad Marshall – 4.5
Nowhere to be found on any of the goals. A few challenges for headers in attacking free kicks won't help erase a generally porous display at the back.

Jonathan Bornstein – 6
Forced into the centerback role after Conrad earned his marching orders, Bornstein gave a decent account of himself. Though he didn't prove he deserves the starting leftback position, at least he showed Bob Bradley a bit of his versatility.

Sacha Kljestan – 5.5
A far cry from the scintillating hat-trick the Chivas USA star scored in the January friendly last year. As the game progressed, Kljestan connected with others better and managed to look decent in the second half, spraying the ball around in the midfield.

Kyle Beckerman – 6
A few good touches and positions in the first half are all the Real Salt Lake scrapper has to show from this friendly.

Benny Feilhaber – 5
Generally ceded the midfield when the U.S. was counting on his experience to hold it together in the middle of the park.

Robbie Rogers – 5.5
Provided the USA's most exciting chance when he ripped a long distance blast off the post early in the second half. Aside from that, the Columbus Crew winger's pace didn't threaten Honduras much and he made way on the hour mark.

Robbie Findley – 5
Starved of service, Findley found himself forced wide whenever he did touch the ball.

Jeff Cunningham – 4
Hardly broke out of a jog in the first half which allowed the Honduras defense to easily contain him. Bob Bradley yanked him off for an extra defender at halftime.

Substitutes

Clarence Goodson – 5.5
Scored the consolation goal with a brave header but was at fault for the third goal, getting lost in Honduras' quick passing.

Brad Davis – 6
Sent in the corner for the consolation goal and hit a beautiful free kick late on that Escobar tipped over the bar.

Heath Pearce – N/A

Conor Casey – N/A

Alejandro Bedoya – 5.5
Gave a good account of himself pushing play forward late on.

Dax McCarty - N/A

Honduras

Donis Escobar – 6.5

Hardly had much to do aside from Davis' free kick and picking up the scraps.

Mauricio Sabrillon – 6
Pushed into attack well in the first half.

Johnny Palacios – 7
Nothing troubled the central defensive pairing for Honduras.

Erick Norales – 7
Ditto. The pair won headers and pushed America's pacy forwards into harmless wide positions.

Emilio Ezaguirre – 6
Pushed quite high in the first half but had to come back to help contain Kljestan in the second.

Walter Martinez – 6.5

Showed some good touches in attack and looked dangerous with his pace. The winger imposed himself on the game less than he could have.

Danilo Turcios – 7
The key man in midfield for Honduras, his forays into attack were especially telling.

Amado Guevara – 5
A quiet outing for the Honduras captain. After a series of sneaky challenges, one stuck and he picked up a yellow, prompting his coach to sub him off early.

Roger Espinoza – 7
Launched a great diagonal ball that led to the second goal and tucked away the third coolly. The Kansas City Wizard had a quietly effective game.

Carlos Pavon – 8
Continues to be the hero for Honduras and came off to rapturous applause. Pavon tucked home the opening penalty with conviction and headed the ball across the net to assist the second.

Jerry Palacios – 8
Drew the penalty and stooped to head home the second goal to kill off the USA in the first half. His lively running proved too much to handle for a brittle U.S. defense.
