Terrence Boyd scores as Rapid Vienna exits Europa League

The American striker scored early in his team's loss, which ensured the Austrian side would not progress to the Europa League knockout phase.
Terrence Boyd may be heading out of Europe, but he is doing so in style.

The Rapid Vienna striker opened the scoring in his side's Europa League Group G finale against Dynamo Kiev on Thursday. A win would've seen the Austrian side through, but Dynamo struck back with three unanswered goals to claim a 3-1 victory that sees it advance to the round of 32.

Boyd got the visitors off to a quick start in the sixth minute, as his close-range finish from a cross gave the Austrian Bundesliga side the lead. It was Boyd's fourth goal in six Europa League group stage matches. Overall, the 22-year-old has 12 goals in all competitions this season.

Boyd came off the bench for the USA in friendlies last month against Scotland and Austria, and has been capped 12 times by Jurgen Klinsmann's side.
