Villarreal striker Jozy Altidore will sign a contract with AZ Alkmaar which will keep him at the club until 2015, according to reports from the Netherlands.
The United States international is set to undergo a medical with the Dutch club before committing his future for the next four years.
The striker, who reportedly attended AZ Alkmaar's 5-0 friendly win over AGOVV, is hoping to find at the AFAS Stadion the opportunities he was never given at Villarreal.
After joining the Spanish club from the New York Red Bulls in 2008, Altidore was loaned out to Xerez, Hull City and Bursaspor, but at all these clubs he failed to show the level of form which has made him a key member of the USA national team.
