Mexico has mix of experience, youth on provisional Copa America Centenario roster

Juan Carlos Osorio didn't include any real surprises in his 40-man provisional roster ahead of the Copa America Centenario.

It will be a familiar squad for Mexico at this summer's Copa America judging from manager Juan Carlos Osorio's 40-man provisional roster.

Giovani dos Santos is on the list, as the manager told FutbolMLS he would be, and goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa also has been named. Both players have been getting more playing time lately, Dos Santos starting a scoring streak with the LA Galaxy while Ochoa has seen starting minutes with Malaga.

Other Europe-based stars dot the roster in addition to Ochoa, with Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, Andres Guardado, Raul Jimenez, Carlos Vela, Jesus "Tecatito" Corona, Diego Reyes and Marco Fabian all part of the team.

Rising stars like Hirving Lozano, Rodolfo Pizarro and Carlos Salcedo are on the provisional squad, though all three are under 23 and could be called upon later in the summer for Mexico's defense of its Olympic gold medal. On the other end of the spectrum, 37-year-old defender Rafa Marquez also is on the list.
