Carlos Vela came on in the 66th minute of Real Sociedad's 3-1 victory against Cordoba on Sunday, getting an assist his first appearance since Jan. 31.
With David Moyes' men leading 2-1, Vela won the ball in their attacking third, surged into the box and hit a pass for Alfred Finnbogason, who turned it in for a stoppage-time tally.
While the manager recently said his team has shown it can win without Vela, Moyes also told reporters after a March 9 victory over Espanoyl that the team was "missing Carlos Vela in games like this, where we need to finish teams off."
The win is Real Sociedad's third straight and sees the team move into the top half of La Liga.
The Mexican attacker was sidelined after having surgery to remove damaged cartilage and was expected to miss two months. Though Vela returned a bit earlier than scheduled, he still isn't a part of Mexico manager Miguel Herrera's side that will face Ecuador and Paraguay in March friendly matches.
