The Seattle Sounders have advanced to the Western Conference final after Nicolas Lodeiro's away goal ended FC Dallas' comeback hopes Sunday.
Dallas dropped the first leg 3-0 in Seattle, but Tesho Akindele put FCD on the board with a 25th-minute header off an Atiba Harris cross.
Seattle responded in the second half, with Lodeiro tapping home a cross after a big mistake at the back from Dallas to make it 1-1 on the night and 4-1 in favor of Seattle for the tie.
But Dallas was not about to go quietly into the night. Following Lodeiro's 54th-minute goal, FCD responded with a second strike — this one from Maximiliano Urruti.
Unfortunately for the home side, Seattle sat back after Urruti's goal and held on, with the 2-1 loss for the Sounders on the night enough to earn the side a spot in the Western Conference final with a 4-2 aggregate win.
