Though he was highly touted as a European prospect, Mexican player Edgar Pacheco, currently with Atlas, has been revealed as the Designated Player target of the Houston Dynamo.
However, the plan for Pacheco to join the squad fell apart when the player refused the transfer.
“We liked his upside as a player, his youth and we liked his value on the transfer market in the future so, really, there was everything to like about the deal,” president of business operations Chris Canetti told MLSsoccer.com.
The midfielder, at only 21, is considered one of El Tri's versatile young talents in midfield.
