Canadian-born Teal Bunbury scored for the Stoke City reserves against Wigan Athletic Tuesday. The American international "is training in England to gain further experience" according to SportingKC.com, the official site of Sporting Kansas City, which employs the striker.
Eidur Gudjohnsen provided the assist for Bunbury's go-ahead goal. However, Wigan responded well enough to win the game, with Bunbury going the full 90 minutes.
The Stoke goal comes in a rather productive offseason for the 20-year-old. Since the end of Kansas City's MLS season, Bunbury has earned his first U.S. national team cap and scored three goals in the Generation adidas trip to Spain.
