Edson Buddle knew he had to do something to show he belongs on the field even after Los Angeles Galaxy star striker Carlos Ruiz returns from injury. Scoring three goals was a good way to prove his point as the Galaxy crushed a reeling FC Dallas side, 5-1, at Pizza Hut Park on Sunday afternoon.
L.A. climbed into second place in the West with the three points, while

Before more than 22,000 fans at PHP, Los Angeles took the initiative
from the opening minutes. A 14-minute stretch in the middle of the

Dallas’s goal area was not handled by the defense, the ball popped out
to Buddle, who calmly tapped it in for his second goal on the day.
Dallas pulled one back in the 54th minute through Dominic Oduro, who
headed in a Kenny Cooper cross from the left side. But the goal did

thoroughly beaten. In the 75th minute, FCD’s frustrations spilled over
when centerback Adrien Serioux received a straight red card after a
vicious tackle from behind on David Beckham.
Beckham exacted his revenge five minutes from time, assisting on
Buddle’s third goal. On a break into offensive third, Beckham chipped
softly to the far post, where Buddle easily headed home to complete the
