University side UKM FC recorded a 5-1 win over third tier side Protap FC in their FA Cup round two match on Tuesday. The foreign players on the Varsity Boys' roster were what separated the two sides, as Mateo Roskam scored a hat-trick while Milad Zeneyedpour bagged a brace in the encounter.

In the match that was held at the UKM Stadium, the hosts were able to dominate the early proceedings and get the ball into the visitors' danger area, but they were hampered by their attackers' lack of clinical finishing.

The few times the underdogs Protap were able to push up, they were surprisingly dangerous. In the 16th minute, forward Syafiq Hamid looked to have been fouled by a UKM defender in the box, but referee Ridhwan Rahman did not even consider a penalty call.

But the deadlock was finally broken in the 33rd minute, Zeneyedpour poking in Roskam's short cross from the right for the opener, after Roskam did the hard work of beating a defender.

Just before halftime, Roskam turned scorer to double UKM's lead, latching on nicely to a K. Reuben cross from the right before slotting the ball past goalkeeper Hazeq Nordin's reach.

But Protap were not down and out yet. Just four minutes into the second half, they pulled one back through Hariz Saim's free kick that UKM goalkeeper Khatul Anuar Jalil failed to keep out.

Roskam had a chance to restore the Varsity Boys' two-goal lead minutes later, but he was flagged for offside.

But at the stroke of the hour, Milad doubled their lead again, easily slotting the ball in from inside the Protap box.

Five minutes later, Roskam too got his brace, poking the ball home from point-blank range unmarked.

The Croatian finally got his hat-trick in the 89th minute, to make the final scoreline 5-1.
