Marcos Llorente (29)
Álvaro Morata (57)
Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán

That concludes our commentary of the LaLiga match between Sevilla and Atletico Madrid! We hope you’ve enjoyed it!
Sevilla have a meeting with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday before hosting Athletic Bilbao next Saturday. Atletico Madrid travel to play Club Brugge on Tuesday in European action before returning home to host Girona in a week.
Sevilla are unable to make it four matches unbeaten against Atletico Madrid as the Andalusian club fall 2-0 to Simeone’s side. Goals in either half from Llorente and Morata were enough to see off Lopetegui’s rather disjointed side, with the hosts unable to find the key pass. Isco and Torres were not at their creative best while an isolated Dolberg failed to trouble from either open play or set-pieces. In typical style, Atletico ceded possession and looked to hit on the counter for the majority of the match, with Morata a particular nuisance to the Sevilla defence, especially when tracking goal-kicks and other dead-ball situations. The win puts Atletico fifth while Sevilla sit in 16th.
João Félix
Yellow Card
Atlético Madrid
90' + 3' Felix is shown a late yellow card for a rash and ill-advised sliding challenge on Rakitic.
90' + 1' The fourth official indicates two minutes will be added to the end of the match for stoppages.
89' Atletico Madrid have lost two of their six games in LaLiga 2022/23 (W3 D1), equalling their highest number of defeats at this stage of a full campaign with Simeone as manager (W4 D0 L2 in 2015/16).
João Félix
N. Molina
Atlético Madrid
87' Felix is introduced during the break in play, with Molina unable to see out the final three minutes.
85' Play is stopped temporarily for Molina, who has gone down off the ball holding his thigh. It could be a bit of cramp for the right-back, who is currently having his leg worked on by Oblak and Gimenez.
83' Llorente’s driving run through midfield takes him into the attacking-third before a clever pass slipped behind Gudelj puts Correa in a dangerous position. The Argentina international looks to cut inside and hit a strike but he scuffs his chance and fails to test Bounou, who can run over to the ball and pick it up.
N. Gudelj
Yellow Card
81' Gudelj's obvious tug on Correa's kit earns him a yellow card.
79' Isco plays his free-kick short to Lamela, whose cross into the area is immediately cleared by the defence. Telles is presented with possession and immediately hooks a left-footed delivery back into the box but it goes behind for a goal-kick.
77' Navas whips a low cross into the penalty looking for En-Nesyri but it’s beaten away by Gimenez, allowing Carrasco to get onto the ball and win a throw-in for his side to help clear their lines.
75' Llorente’s high, hanging cross from the right wing is met by the head of Navas, who presents it right to the foot of Griezmann. The France international takes a touch to set himself and hits a shot that misses the target by some distance.
G. Kondogbia
Atlético Madrid
73' In search of a bit more stability and power in midfield, Simeone sends Kondogbia on for Koke.
Á. Correa
Matheus Cunha
Atlético Madrid
72' Correa comes on for Cunha as Atletico Madrid make a change at the top-end of the pitch.
71' Lamela gets into the penalty area and goes down under close watch from both Reinildo and Gimenez, but the referee sees nothing wrong with the contact as he allows play to continue.
69' Lamela cuts inside and fires a hopeful shot towards goal that’s caught cleanly by Oblak.
Y. En-Nesyri
T. Nianzou
67' An attacking alteration for Sevilla sees En-Nesyri come on for Kouassi.
P. Gómez
Óliver Torres
67' Torres is replaced by Gomez with 23 minutes to go!
65' Griezmann’s first involvement is a lovely cross to the far post for Carrasco, who takes it down before cutting inside and firing a shot that’s blocked by an eager Navas.
63' Dolberg does his defensive duties at the near post as he repels an Atletico Madrid corner hooked in by Carrasco.
Y. Carrasco
Atlético Madrid
60' Saul is also withdrawn as Carrasco is given a chance to stretch his legs.
A. Griezmann
Álvaro Morata
Atlético Madrid
60' Morata is called to the bench after his goal, with Griezmann on in his place.
59' Sevilla are one of four teams yet to have led for a single minute at home in LaLiga this season along with Cadiz, Elche and Espanyol, while only Real Madrid (177) have led for more minutes as visitors this campaign than Atletico Madrid (149).
Matheus Cunha
Atlético Madrid
57' Cunha provided an unselfish assist for Morata.
Álvaro Morata
Atlético Madrid
57' MORATA DOUBLES THE ADVANTAGE! 2-0 ATLETICO! Morata tracks Oblak's goal-kick well, winning the ball in the air to prod it to Cunha. The Brazil international's initial pass is deflected off Carmona, but a kind rebound presents it back to the number nine. He feeds a pass into the penalty area for his strike partner, who meets it with a deft chip over Bounou!
56' CLOSE! Gudelj obliges the calls from the stands to shoot as he hits an effort from well outside the penalty area, sending his strike whistling wide!
55' Telles curls a corner-kick into the penalty area from the left but Savic is first to the delivery, clearing it emphatically with a powerful header.
54' Isco again gets on the ball just outside Atletico Madrid's penalty area but proves unable to pick out the right pass, splitting two defenders but with too much power as it's sent behind for a goal-kick despite Lamela's intelligent run.
52' Isco gets the ball from Rakitic after a quick passing move, but the former Real Madrid midfielder is unable to find a team-mate with his first-time pass around the corner, giving Reinildo a chance to watch the ball go behind for a goal-kick.
50' Oblak's poor kick allows Isco to regain possession just outside Atletico Madrid's penalty area, but a great piece of defending from Molina regains the ball for the visitors before winning a throw-in for his efforts.
48' Llorente’s delicate touch allows him to keep the ball ahead of Kouassi, but he stretches a bit too far and takes down Telles, giving Sevilla a free-kick.
46' Sevilla get the match restarted from the kick-off!
I. Rakitić
T. Delaney
46' Lopetegui also makes a swap in midfield, with the carded Delaney brought off for Rakitic.
Jesús Navas
Kike Salas
46' A change in defence at the half sees Navas come on for Salas.
Sevilla must continue to open up and attack with the result currently against them at home. Lopetegui’s options from the bench should be a reason for positivity, with Januzaj, En-Nesyri, Mir and Gomez all ready and waiting to be introduced. Atletico Madrid will be happy enough with the clean sheet but could use a bit of insurance after relatively poor defensive displays recently - which could necessitate appearances for either Felix or Griezmann.
The first half comes to an end at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan with Atletico Madrid leading by a single goal, thanks to Llorente’s clever far-post finish just before the half-hour mark. Despite a number of shots flying in from all angles, both Oblak and Bounou have had relatively little to do. The goal was one of just two attempts on target from the visitors, who haven’t looked at their best despite the lead. The hosts have not found too much difficulty getting towards the opposition's net, but despite having the likes of Isco, Torres and Lamela, they have not found the crucial pass.
45' The fourth official indicates one minute will be added to the end of the half for stoppages.
44' Molina’s corner late in the half is taken into the six-yard box, but Bounou is allowed to claim it easily under little pressure from any opposing attackers.
42' Carmona puts another cross into the penalty area from a position deep on the right wing, but Llorente clears it away easily with a sweep of his leg.
40' At home, Sevilla have not lost any of their last four games against Atletico Madrid in LaLiga, winning their last two - their longest unbeaten run (4) and also their longest run of consecutive wins (2) against the Colchoneros since Simeone's arrival.
A. Witsel
Yellow Card
Atlético Madrid
38' Witsel dribbles himself into trouble 25 yards from goal and is forced into fouling Isco to prevent a counter, forcing the match official to show the Belgium international a yellow card.
37' Telles’ delivery into the penalty area is repelled to the edge of the box for Isco, who takes a touch off his chest before lashing a wayward volley.
35' Lopetegui is furious on the touchline as Dolberg goes down under the pressure of a cynical sliding tackle from Savic. It’s a free-kick for Sevilla but the referee does not produce a card.
33' Llorente gets on the end of Gudelj’s unconvincing clearance after a long throw-in from Atletico Madrid, with the right winger slamming his shot into the side netting.
T. Delaney
Yellow Card
31' A frustrated Delaney pulls Cunha back with two hands and receives a yellow card for the infraction.
Atlético Madrid
29' It's a lovely finish from Llorente, but the goal would not have come if it were not for Koke's phenomenal range of passing, with the captain registering the assist.
Marcos Llorente
Atlético Madrid
29' ATLETICO MADRID TAKE THE LEAD! 1-0! The visitors find the breakthrough following a Sevilla throw-in, with Cunha stealing in to win possession on the left wing. The striker finds Koke with a short pass, allowing the captain to switch play to the right-hand side - where Llorente takes a touch to set himself before dragging a shot into the far corner!
Alex Telles
K. Rekik
28' An early substitution for Sevilla sees Rekik brought off for Telles.
27' Carmona charges forward down the right, showing off his dribbling as he gets by Witsel and Saul, but Gimenez comes across and outmuscles the full-back - throwing him to the turf in what the referee deems a clean attempt to win the ball.
25' Koke cuts inside and finds Morata with his back to goal with a short pass, looking for the one-two. The striker instead gives it to Saul, whose curled shot falls kindly into the hands of the goalkeeper.
23' Atletico Madrid force a poor pass into the middle of the pitch after Carmona is unable to deal with the pressure of two closing opponents, but there’s nobody there to capitalise just outside Sevilla’s penalty area which allows the hosts to regather and move higher up the field.
21' Lamela’s short corner taken quickly allows Carmona to play a cross into the penalty area from a different angle but Delaney can’t steer his header towards goal as Oblak collects for a goal-kick.
19' CHANCE! Koke gets into the 18-yard box after a good bit of movement and cuts a pass back to Morata, who fires his golden opportunity over the crossbar!
17' Saul’s clever dribbling on the edge of the area gives Cunha the space needed to overlap down the left and receive a pass. The striker does well to keep the ball in play and produce a cross but Llorente’s header at the far post is directed over.
15' Rekik brings a Sevilla attack to a premature end after shoving Llorente in the face during an attempt to keep possession, giving away a free-kick.
13' Molina’s corner fails to beat the first man at the near post but a rushed clearance gives the full-back another try. The second attempt is cleared to the foot of Reinildo 25 yards from goal but his wild shot comes nowhere close to the target.
Yellow Card
11' The first yellow card of the match is shown to Isco, who raises his leg high and catches Cunha across the chest.
9' Lamela looks to take Reinildo on at the edge of the Atletico Madrid penalty area, but the winger lays it off for Isco, whose first-time shot is directed into the chest of Saul.
7' Torres uses a free-kick in midfield to play a clever low pass into the penalty area for Carmona. The full-back manages to draw Oblak off his line but he fails to hit the target, putting it behind from close range for a goal-kick.
5' Atletico Madrid have gone into today’s game with a change of shape, opting for a 4-4-2 after playing the majority of the matches to begin the year with a three-man defence. Partially owing to the unavailability of both Felipe and Hermoso at the back, Simeone has decided to change things up in order to try and arrest their poor run of form.
3' Llorente charges down the right wing and lays it off for Molina, whose cross into the area is deflected towards goal. Bounou is alert to the danger and tips the ball over the crossbar to be safe, giving Atleti a corner.
1' Atletico Madrid get the match underway from the kick-off!
Atletico Madrid make six changes from the line-up that lost 2-1 to Real Madrid 13 days ago. Molina comes in at right-back replacing the injured Felipe, while Gimenez and Savic are chosen ahead of Kondogbia and De Paul - allowing Witsel to play midfield instead of defence. Saul is picked ahead of Carrasco while Simeone chooses to rotate both his strikers, opting for Morata and Cunha ahead of Felix and Griezmann.
Sevilla make five changes to the XI that earned a 1-1 draw with Villarreal on September 18. Rekik and Kouassi replace Acuna and Jordan in defence, with Gudelj pushing forward into his more natural midfield role after playing centre-back last time out. Delaney also comes into the middle of the park for Fernando, while Dolberg and Lamela are chosen ahead of Mir and Navas in attack.

With 15 minutes to go, let’s take a look at how the two teams are lining up - starting with our hosts!
Atletico Madrid are looking to get back to winning ways after two losses in a row to close out September, with their 2-1 derby defeat to Real Madrid following on the heels of going down 2-0 to Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League. A victory today would allow the Colchoneros to jump two places to fifth place.
Sevilla had a difficult start to the campaign, failing to win any of their opening five matches across all competitions, but a good run of form before the international break saw the Andalusian club pick up four points from two LaLiga games. Julen Lopetegui will be looking to keep their modest undefeated streak going against Atletico Madrid in a fixture won by Sevilla on two of the last three occasions.
