Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
It's another trophy for Zinedine Zidane as Real manager, continuing his run of success. Ernesto Valverde can now see the huge challenge ahead of him to unseat Real from the LaLiga and Champions League summit.
Real Madrid ease to victory to win the Spanish Super Cup. Goals from Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema compounded their advantage from the first leg, with Barcelona unable to break the deadlock, despite a few close chances in the second half.
FULL-TIME: REAL MADRID 2 (5) - 0 (1) BARCELONA
Yellow card Javier Alejandro Mascherano
The referee ends the contest.
There will be three minutes of added time.
Suarez goes into the book for pulling back Casemiro.
Hernandez surges down the left flank and sends a cross into the box, but once again it's over the head of everyone in the penalty area.
Sergi Roberto then gets walloped by Casemiro in a strong challenge. He gets to his feet, but that must have knocked the wind out of him.
More concerns for Valverde on the sideline as Suarez goes down clutching his knee. He's back on his feet, but running gingerly.
Deulofeu surges into the right inside channel and tries to squeeze in an effort at goal, but Ramos diverts the ball behind for a corner.
Benzema wins the ball back from Rakitic deep in his own half and it starts a counter from the home side. Hernandez collects on the left and sends a cross into the box, but it evades the Frenchman at the back post.
Ceballas replaces Kroos in the Real midfield.
Real are just taking the pace out of the game to wind the clock down. They'll not want any injuries before the start of the LaLiga season at the weekend.
Digne replaces Alba for the visitors.
Suarez hits the deck in the box after colliding with Navas when going for the ball. He's offside anyway as his appeal for a spot-kick is turned down, while the home fans take the opportunity to jeer the Uruguayan.
Asensio gets a huge ovation from the home fans as he is replaced by Hernandez.
Barcelona work their passing game well around the edge of the box, allowing Messi to turn and shoot on his right foot. The Argentine lacks the accuracy to trouble Navas, sending the ball over the bar.
Deulofeu replaces Gomes for the visitors.
SAVE AND OFF THE POST! Messi drives from the edge of the box and he sees his strike well saved by Navas. However, Suarez latches on the rebound and attempts to head the ball into an empty net, but his effort clatters off the post and bounces wide. It's just one of those days for Barca.
Real are attempting to re-assert control of the contest after a flurry of opportunities for Barcelona. It would be a nit-pick, but Zidane still won't be happy with that period of play from his team.
WIDE! Messi lifts a dangerous cross in from the right flank and Suarez escapes the attention of his marker, but cannot make clean contact with his header at the back post.
CLOSE! Alba finds space to deliver a low cross into the box and it travels across the face of goal and agonsingly out of reach of Sergi Roberto at the back post. It has been that sort of evening for the Catalan club.
Mascherono highlights the difficulties his side have endured this evening by putting a relatively simple pass to Semedo out for a throw.
Casemiro replaces Kovacic for the home side.
Asensio gets in behind Mascherano and fires the ball across the face of goal. Barca struggle to scramble it clear and Benzema almost pounces, but Semedo manages to hoof it to safety. End-to-end action at the Bernabeu.
Semedo makes progress down the right and lifts a cross towards the near post. Suarez connects with a header, but does not quite get clean contact, allowing Navas to make the stop.
BLOCK! Sergi Roberto lifts a threatening cross into the box that Suarez controls before striking on his left. His effort looks to be heading towards the net, only to be denied by Varane on the slide.
SAVE! Benzema runs into the left channel and smashes a strike towards the top corner. Ter Stegen saves the ball with his shoulder, sending the ball out for a corner.
OFF THE BAR! Suarez sends the ball into the path of Messi, who surges into the box. He strikes the ball with power past Navas, only for the ball to cannon off the underside of the bar and bounces to safety. That moment sums up Barcelona's evening.
Benzema runs forward with menace, but his lofted pass aiming for Asensio is cut out by Mascherano.
Semedo replaces Pique for the visitors.
Suarez drifts into space down the right and has time to send a low cross into the box. No player in red and blue makes an attempt to run into the area, and as a result, Navas is able to gather his cutback.
We're back underway at the Bernabeu.
The players are back out for the second half, so we should be underway again shortly.
Ernesto Valverde has a lot of work ahead of him at the break to salvage pride for his team at the least. Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have cut frustrated figures in the first period.
Real Madrid are on course to win the Spanish Super Cup with ease. They've dominated Barcelona in the first half and extended their 3-1 advantage from the first leg with a stunner from Marco Asensio before Karim Benzema added a well-taken second strike before the break.
HALF-TIME: REAL MADRID 2-0 BARCELONA
The referee ends the first half.
OVER! Benzema drifts between the Barca midfield and charges towards the edge of the box. The Frenchman powers a strike at goal with his left foot that just sails over the bar.
Ramos gets a jump on Pique in the box and he rises to head Kroos' cross at goal, but his effort just dips over the bar.
Vazquez is afforded room in the final third and he goes for the strike from the edge of the box. However, his effort is tame and straight at Ter Stegen. Real are still all over the visitors here.
Marcelo raids down the left and delivers a fine cross into the area that is converted by Benzema.
GOALLLLL!!!! BENZEMA FINDS THE NET! It's too easy for Real as Marcelo raids down the flank and sends the ball into the box. Benzema controls before lashing an effort on the half-volley past Ter Stegen from close range. The Barca defence were statuesque.
Asensio and Vazquez combine again in the final third, but on this occasion the latter's final ball lets him down as Mascherano clears on the edge of the Barca box.
Suarez breaks down the right in response and lifts a dangerous cross into the box, only for Carvajal to head the ball away from Rakitic.
OFF THE POST! Asensio sends the ball to Vazquez on the edge of the box and the forward creates space to fire at goal with his left foot. His strike beats Ter Stegen, but crashes off the post and bounces to safety.
BLOCK! Vazquez goes on a surge again down the right flank and this time he lifts the ball to the back post. Benzema challenges with Pique, but the defender does enough to hook the ball behind.
Real break on the counter through Vazquez down the right and he squares the ball back to Kroos to hit. However, the German slices his effort wide of the post from 20 yards.
The Catalan club build down the left, but Alba's pass to Messi in the inside left channel is intercepted with ease by Varane.
Barcelona win a free-kick and Rakitic floats the ball forward for the run of Pique, but Carvajal acts to divert the ball behind ahead of the Spaniard.
Kroos sends a threatening cross into the box, but the ball is just too high for Varane on the charge.
BLOCK! Benzema finds space between Pique and Umtiti and plays the ball back to Asensio for the strike, but on this occasion his effort is diverted wide.
After a frenetic start to the contest the pace has calmed over the last five minutes. That will suit Real more than the visitors though.
Barcelona have done well to stem the early tide that had them all at sea, but need to be clinical in the final third when opportunities present themselves. Their defensive lapses have left them with an awful lot to do tonight.
CLOSE! Messi gets to the byline on the left flank and sends the ball into the six-yard box. Ramos covers ground well ahead of Suarez and clears the danger at the near post.
Asensio goes down on the counter under the challenge of Sergi Roberto and wants a free-kick, but the referee tells the young Spaniard to get to his feet.
CHANCE! Sergi Roberto slides the ball into the right inside channel and somehow Messi is all alone. He only has Navas to beat from a tight angle, but the keeper smothers the ball at the feet of the Argentine.
Rakitic lifts the ball into the box and Andre Gomes, but the midielder handles the ball as he attempts to bring it under control.
OVER! Suarez collects a loose ball and goes for a strike on the edge of the box, but he sends his effort well over the bar.
Suarez gets the better of Ramos and from the byline he drills the ball across the face of goal, but there's no red and blue shirt there to attack the ball, with Andre Gomes arriving late in the area.
Marcelo raids down the left flank and digs out a threatening cross. Ter Stegen gets under the ball and cannot clear, but Umtiti is on hand to divert it away from Benzema.
Umtiti has to be aware at the back to clear his lines under pressure from Asensio, who has started the game brilliantly.
The Catalan club are attempting to drop the tempo of the game, but Real look a threat every time they push forward.
Barcelona have not got going thus far and now need something special to get back into the tie. They're trailing by three goals on aggregate.
GOALLLLLL!!!! WHAT A STRIKE! Asensio hands Real the lead on the night with an absolute stunner. The Spaniard collects the ball 30 yards from goal and hits it with his left foot. His effort drifts towards the top corner and dips at the last second to hit the back of the net. Ter Stegen was flat footed and should have at least made an attempt, but the effort was truly sublime from the 21-year-old.
Real have enjoyed an electric start to the game and are putting the visitors under a great deal of pressure in the early stages.
BLOCK! Asensio raids down the left flank and sends the ball to the edge of the box. Modric latches on to the cutback and fires at goal, only to see his effort blocked by Umtiti.
We're underway at the Bernabeu.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
Barcelona switch formation from their opener, moving to a 3-5-2 system as Javier Mascherano comes in at the back. He is one of three changes from the defeat at the Camp Nou as Sergio Roberto and Andre Gomes also come into the team.
Real have made three changes from their win at the weekend. Luka Modric returns to the fold after being suspended for the first leg, while Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio - after his fine goal - get the nod to start in the three-man attack.

The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
Barcelona's cause has been boosted, although they still face a massive challenge to overturn the deficit at the Bernabeu. Ernesto Valverde will not want his first clash with Real to end in a defeat.
Real will have to play on tonight and for the start of the season without Ronaldo as he was sent off in the first leg for two bookable offences. The first was for taking his shirt off after his goal, while second was for simulation. He did not take Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea's decision well and shoved the referee, resulting in a further four-game ban.
Zinedine Zidane's men hold a 3-1 lead from the first leg thanks to an own goal from Gerard Pique, Cristiano Ronaldo and Marco Asensio. Barcelona had equalised through Lionel Messi before Real's late salvo put them in control of the contest.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Spanish Super Cup second leg clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Bernabeu.
