Porto v Olympiakos Piraeus Live Commentary, 10/27/20

2 - 0
Fábio Vieira (11)
Sérgio Oliveira (85)
Estádio Do Dragão

Porto welcome Marseille here in their next group game next week and will fancy their chances of cementing their top two position. Olympiacos, meanwhile, travel to England to face Man City. If they lose that as expected, third place and the Europa League repechage could be the best they can hope for. That's all for now. Goodbye!
Porto's victory means they leapfrog Olympiacos into second place in Group C. They're three points behind Man City who won 3-0 away to Marseille. Marseille are rock bottom of the group without a point.
That was a mature performance from Porto who held Olympiacos at bay despite being second best for most of the second half. Vieira's opening goal in the first half clearly settled the hosts, and they did enough to hold the visitors off until Oliveira could finish the job late on. Olympiacos were positive but created few clear chances.
90' + 4' Bruma hands Porto a free-kick down the right wing fouling Nakajima. There's no time for anything else though - the final whistle blows!
90' + 2' Porto have done a solid job on Olympiacos here. The visitors have been better for most of the second half and yet they're going to head home empty-handed.
Wilson Manafá
Yellow Card
90' + 1' Manafa is booked for a cynical challenge on El-Arabi. Needs must at this stage for Porto.
90' Olympiacos' Pepe concedes a corner for Porto. Nothing comes of it, as has been the case from corners all game. There'll be four minutes of added time at the end of this game.
Romário Baró
Sérgio Oliveira
89' Porto run down the clock with one more substitution. Oliveira is replaced by the 20-year-old midfielder Baro.
87' Olympiacos get a great opportunity to score but it's probably too late now anyway. Hassan shoots for the bottom right corner from the centre of the box, forcing a decent save from Marchesin. M'Vila fires high and wide from range from the resulting corner.
M. Marega
86' Marega's cross there was crying out for someone to get on the end of it and Oliveira did. Porto have surely sealed the three points now.
Sérgio Oliveira
85' GOAL! PORTO 2-0 OLYMPIACOS! Oliveira seals the win for Porto! As soon as Olympiacos' substitutes get on the field, Marega drifts down the right channel. The Malian crosses for the arriving Oliveira who heads past Sa from close range!
M. Valbuena
Olympiakos Piraeus
84' Valbuena's race is also run. The Egyptian striker Hassan is on for Olympiacos.
Pêpê Rodrigues
A. Bouchalakis
Olympiakos Piraeus
84' Olympiacos make a few more substitutions. Bouchalakis is replaced in midfield by Pepe. We'lll call him Olympiacos' Pepe.
M. Uribe
Yellow Card
82' Uribe is next to find himself in the book for a raking challenge. That's deserved too.
K. Fortounis
Yellow Card
Olympiakos Piraeus
80' Fortounis gets a yellow card for a late clip on Mbemba. The Congolese defender is left rolling in pain on the turf temporarily. Fortounis can have no complaints.
78' Oliveira's ambitious effort from range is saved comfortably by Sa. Olympiacos have a go next and Bouchalakis' ball out wide is headed out by Manafa.
76' Valbuena sets El-Arabi through on goal with a perfect pass over the top. The Moroccan shoots first-time straight at Marchesin who saves smartly. The striker's marginally offside, it turns out.
74' Another chance comes Porto's way. Uribe ghosts into the box for a header from Oliveira's deep cross but the Colombian's competing with his teammate Evanilson for it and can only head wide.
72' Porto are starting to find something of a second wind. Marega has a pop from outside the box. It's straight down the throat of Sa who handles it calmly.
Rúben Vinagre
J. Holebas
Olympiakos Piraeus
70' Olympiacos also make a like-for-like change at left-back. Vinagre, on loan from Wolves, replaces Holebas. It's one recent Premier League player for another.
L. Ranđelović
Olympiakos Piraeus
70' Now it's time for those Olympiacos changes. Randelovic, who had Olympiacos' best chance of scoring so far, is replaced by the speedy Portuguese winger Bruma, on loan from PSV Eindhoven.
M. Grujić
70' Otavio also gets the hook. On comes the Serbian midfielder Grujic, who's on loan from Liverpool.
J. Corona
69' Corona trots off. The Brazilian forward Evanilson comes on in his place for Porto.
69' Porto get some respite as they get a free-kick down their right. They'll make a few changes first.
67' Olympiacos are preparing another substitution. The visitors have had 67 per cent possession and five shots to Porto's two so far in this second half.
65' El-Arabi's shot from distance bounces off Pepe and out of play for a fourth Olympiacos corner. Porto see this one out too. The hosts are on the back foot but are withstanding everything the visitors can throw at them.
63' Pepe hands Olympiacos yet another corner, their third of the half. Again, Valbuena finds Semedo whose header this time bounces to the left of goal.
J. Corona
Yellow Card
61' The peripheral Corona receives a yellow card for saying too miuch to the referee after Manafa is judged to have fouled Valbuena. Porto's anxiety is growing.
S. Nakajima
Fábio Vieira
60' Porto substitution. The goalscorer Vieira goes off. The Japanese winger Nakajima replaces him.
59' Manafa heads out for another Olympiacos corner after Pepe fluffs his clearance of Rafinha's cross. Porto's captain throws his hands up in frustration. Semedo heads over from Valbuena's ball in.
58' Olympiacos have a corner as Fortounis' shot from outside the box clatters off a defender. Porto survive it but they're having to endure a growing number of Olympiacos attacks.
57' Olympiacos' latest attack breaks down and now it's Porto's turn. Sanusi's powerful run from left-back sets him free down the left. The Nigerian's cross finds Corona at the far post but Holebas is quick to react and clear.
55' Olympiacos are starting to ramp up the pressure on the hosts, firing the ball repeatedly into their box. Cisse unintentionally relieves it by climbing over the back of Marega, giving the free-kick away.
K. Fortounis
G. Masouras
Olympiakos Piraeus
53' Olympiacos substitution. The muted Masouras makes way for the attacking midfielder Fortounis.
52' Chance for Olympiacos! Otavio is over-eager in giving away a free-kick. Seconds later a cross comes in from the left and Randjelovic fires a first-time volley on his left foot, forcing a decent save from Marchesin! Porto hurriedly clear. That would have been an amazing strike had it gone in.
50' Bouchalakis gets pickpocketed by Vieira on the edge of his box. The young midfielder takes a few touches and decides to have a crack at goal but it's blocked.
48' Bouchalakis is bundled over in a central position handing Olympiacos a free-kick. Valbuena floats it into the box and the flag goes up against the visitors.
46' We're underway now for the second half. No changes by either side at half-time.
Olympiacos' best chance in the first half came from Valbuena with that quick-thinking chip. Valbuena's got a goal and two assists in two starts for the Greeks in the Champions League before this game, including the assist for their winner against Marseille last time out. Can the French veteran have more of an influence on this game in the second half?
Porto lead at the break after a first half low on high-octane action. Vieira gave Porto the lead in the first quarter of an hour with an opportunistic strike from a rebound. Porto have been marginally the better team, but Olympiacos have edged themselves into the game and have made life difficult for the hosts.
45' A hashed Porto clearance from another throw-in causes problems. The ball's lofted back in from deep and Cisse heads over. Luckily for Porto he's offside anyway. Porto's captain Pepe looks frustrated, telling his team they should have pushed up. There'll be just the one added minute in this first half.
43' Bouchalakis finds Holebas down the left and Olympiacos get the throw-in. Porto soon push the visitors back out of their final third.
41' Olympiacos are starting to assert themselves on this game. Mbemba heads Rafinha out for another corner for the visitors. Again it doesn't lead to much but Porto are having to work a little harder now.
39' Cisse intercepts a cross intended for Marega and Olympiacos are away! Marchesin flaps at a Randjelovic header back towards the centre and the ball comes loose. Valbuena instinctively dinks it back towards goal and Mbemba desperately heads it out for a corner which Porto deal with just fine.
37' Olympiacos enjoy a spell on the ball. First El-Arabi is caught offside from Randjelovic's pass, then Olympiacos' Serbian winger shows a little too much to Sanusi who snuffs the opportunity out.
35' Porto are keeping the ball well, denying Olympiacos the chance to win possession easily. Marega goes down holding his face after catching an accidental arm from Sisse but it isn't a foul.
33' Porto see the corner out and go hunting on the counter. Vieira tries to slip Marega through on goal and Cisse is there to put it out for a Porto corner which Olympiacos clear.
32' Olympiacos get a sniff of the ball around Porto's box and Rafinha powers forward to win the visitors a corner. Valbuena comes across to take it.
30' The game is being played at a leisurely, dare we say Mediterranean, pace so far. Cisse is well-positioned again to cut out Otavio's pass.
28' Eventually Porto waft the ball into the box but it goes nowhere that causes Olympiacos trouble. Bouchalakis looks to see Masouras free down the left but the pass is cut out. Back up the other end, Marega forces Sa wide to block his shot from a tight angle! The ball comes back to Marega but he can't create a second chance from it.
27' Porto look unhurried on the ball and off it. Holebas heads out for a throw-in for the hosts.
25' Holebas manages to keep an ambitious crossfield pass in play to get Olympiacos moving. The visitors cause Porto some hassle in the box until the offside flag goes up against El-Arabi.
24' Porto are on the attack again. Marega looks to latch onto a threaded throughball from Manafa but Cisse is there to stop it.
22' After a bit of head tennis Porto come out in control of possession. The hosts work the ball down the right and Manafa's cross from deep is cleared.
20' Olympiacos get their first half-chance of the game. Their Moroccan striker El-Arabi heads tamely into the arms of Marchesin.
18' Semedo and Marega bump into each other in midfield and Porto get the free-kick. The pair smile and cordially help each other up.
16' Porto get a free-kick down their left now as M'Vila swings an arm into the unfortunately named Corona's face. Sanusi rises high at the far post to get on the end of Oliveira's ball in but nods wide.
15' Olympiacos win their first corner of the game down their left. It comes in and Porto look to counter only for Sanusi to slip at the vital moment.
13' Porto look full of confidence at the moment. Otavio wins a free-kick down the left flank as he's fouled by Rafinha.
Fábio Vieira
11' GOAL! PORTO 1-0 OLYMPIACOS! Porto take an early lead! Porto win a corner off Bouchalakis which the visitors can't clear. Sisse blocks Sanusi's low cross from the left but it rolls to Vieira who slams a shot into the bottom left corner. It's his first goal in the Champions League this season.
9' Masouras picks up the ball in a central position outside the box and shoots but it squirts well wide. Olympiacos look up for an open game at least.
7' Semedo tries a crossfield pass from the back but it doesn't work out. Masouras' cross into Porto's box is cleared for a throw-in.
5' It's a fairly even opening to this game as both teams suss each other out. It takes a while to get the legs warmed up, after all.
3' Porto win an early corner as Holebas heads a dangerous cross away with Otavio lurking at the post. Olympiacos deal with it easily enough.
1' We're underway here in Portugal!
The two sides are out on the pitch here in Porto. Porto will play in their blue-and-white home kit while Olympiacos are wearing their all-navy third kit.
On paper this looks like a home win. Porto and Olympiacos have faced each other on six occasions in Europe, with the Portuguese side winning two games, both here in Porto. Olympiacos have yet to win in their three previous visits. Porto have won their last five home Champions League group stage games, while Olympiacos have lost 12 of their last 14 away games at this level. Will Porto open Group C up or can Olympiacos claim a commanding early position?
Porto make two changes from their 3-1 defeat to Man City last time out. Manafa and Otavio replace Sarr and the injured Luis Diaz. There's only the one change to Olympiacos' team from their last game. Cisse replaces the ill Ousseynou Ba at centre-back.

Olympiacos saw off Marseille with a late 1-0 win last week, getting their European campaign off to a good start. Pedro Martins' men are undefeated so far this season but their recent history away from home in the Champions League is not great. We'll soon find out what the Greeks are made of.
Porto will be keen to recover from their defeat to Manchester City in the first round of Champions League group games last week. Sergio Conceicao's team still have high hopes of qualifying for the knockout phase but face a firm test here in the form of Greek champions Olympiacos.
