Commentary

That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
This victory moves Newcastle up to 11th in the table, whilst Bournemouth drop down to seventh. Next up for the Magpies after the international break is a trip to Aston Villa, whilst Bournemouth will face Wolves.
Newcastle secure back-to-back victories for the first time this season, with a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at St James' Park. It was 1-1 at the break, with Harry Wilson scoring for the visitors and Yedlin equalising for the Magpies. It didn't take too long for Newcastle to go ahead in the second half, with Clark scoring on 52 minutes after a corner was headed goalwards by Fernandez. They almost made it 3-1, but Ramsdale pulled off a superb save to deny Saint Maximin and then Almiron blazed the rebound off his team-mate and over the crossbar. Bournemouth almost got an equaliser right at the end, but King couldn't convert from close range.
90' + 6' FULL-TIME: NEWCASTLE 2-1 BOURNEMOUTH
90' + 6' CLOSE! King should level the scoreline for Bournemouth late on, but he somehow misses from close range. A corner is flicked on and King meets it at the far post, but he powers his header wide of the post.
90' + 4' Newcastle try to break forward quickly on the counter-attack as the Cherries throw everyone forward, however, they run out of ideas and end up playing it backwards in an attempt to just keep the ball.
90' + 2' Newcastle are running down the clock now, taking their time with set pieces and throw-ins, as Bournemouth start to grow frustrated.
90' There will be a minimum of SIX minutes added time played at the end of the half.
C. Atsu
A. Saint-Maximin
Newcastle United
90' Final Newcastle substitution now, with Saint-Maximin coming off and he has been replaced by Atsu.
89' Steve Cook goes for the spectacular overhead kick inside the penallty area, but ends up striking the face of Carroll and giving away a free-kick.
87' It's all Bournemouth in these final few minutes of the game, pushing forward in search of an equalising goal. They've got just over three minutes plus additional time to try to beat Dubravka in the Newcastle goal.
85' Willems is down following an aerial challenge with Fraser and the two players clash heads. The Newcastle medical team are once again on the pitch. He is fit to continue, though.
A. Carroll
Joelinton
Newcastle United
83' Change for Newcastle now, with Joelinton the man coming off and he has been replaced by Carroll.
82' Clark has now scored in consecutive Premier League games for the first time and it looks like his goal today might be the winning one for Newcastle.
80' There's a big scuffle going on down near the touchline between a few players from both teams, after a late challenge by Almiron. The referee keeps a watchful eye and no yellow cards are shown.
A. Groeneveld
A. Smith
AFC Bournemouth
78' Bournemouth make their third and final substitution with Smith coming off and he has been replaced by Groeneveld.
77' HUGE SAVE! Ramsdale denies Newcastle an almost certain goal after Saint-Maximin sprints through on goal and only had the keeper the beat, but Ramsdale dived at his feet and got the ball. The rebound then falls to Almiron, but his shot hits the back of his team-mate and flies over the crossbar. If he got that wrong, then it either would've been a goal or a penalty given away.
F. Fernández
Yellow Card
Newcastle United
75' Fernandez is shown a yellow card for his challenge on Fraser that led to his injury. The centre-back was very late as the winger skipped past him on the touchline.
74' Another stoppage in play now as this time Fernandez is down with an injury after getting a boot in the face by Fraser, after the Newcastle centre-back slide in with a late challenge.
72' Blocked! Bournemouth deliver a corner into the box, which is half cleared by Newcastle, it first falls to Lewis Cook but his shot is blocked and then to Steve Cook, who also has his shot at goal blocked by Fernandez.
70' The hosts are starting to sit deeper and deeper as Bournemouth continue to push forward, but the visitors are yet to really test Dubravka in this second half.
68' When Newcastle do manage to get on the ball they are just slowing everything down, trying to string a few passes together and take the sting out of the Bournemouth attacks.
S. Francis
H. Wilson
AFC Bournemouth
66' The other change sees Harry Wilson replaced by Francis.
D. Solanke
Diego Rico
AFC Bournemouth
66' Bournemouth make a double substitution now, with Rico the man coming off and he has been replaced by Solanke.
65' Bournemouth win a free-kick deep down the left-wing, which Harry Wilson whips into the box, but it's too close to Dubravka, who gathers well in the air.
64' Callum Wilson and King have struggled to get on the ball for Bournemouth today, they've struggled up top against the five man Newcastle defence. Fraser and Harry Wilson have been the Cherries biggest threats going forward.
62' Newcastle are looking to secure back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time since April – they scored more goals in their 3-2 win against West Ham last time out than they had in their previous five Premier League games combined (2).
60' Still no signs of any changes for Bournemouth, despite not really getting going so far in this second half. We're past the hour mark now and Newcastle lead 2-1.
58' Superb play by Saint-Maximin to break into the Bournemouth half and beat two or three defenders, he then lays it out wide to Willems, who goes for goal from long range, but it's straight at Ramsdale, who makes a good save.
56' Joelinton is down on the pitch with an injury for Newcastle now and Bournemouth eventually stop the game so he can receive some treatment. However, it looks like he will be fine to continue.
54' Newcastle have done very well to turn this game around as they almost were 2-0 down in the first half, but it was Clark who saved the day with a goal line clearance.
C. Clark
Goal
Newcastle United
52' GOOOAAALLL! Newcastle lead 2-1! Clark with the goal to put the hosts ahead. It's a scrappy goal, but they won't care one bit. Fernandez wins a header in the box after a corner that Clark gets the slightest touch to and the ball creeps into the back of the net.
50' Six of Newcastle's last eight Premier League goals have now been scored by defenders and four of Newcastle's last five Premier League goals have been headers.
48' Slow start to the second half so far, neither team really doing a lot on the ball and are just working themselves into the game.
46' The second half is under way!
The game could go either way in the second half, with both teams looking dangerous in attack, with Bournemouth especially causing problems with their pace and Fraser and Harry Wilson are constantly cutting inside from the wings, to try and work space for a shot.
It's 1-1 at the break between Newcastle and Bournemouth at St James' Park, with the visitors opening the scoring after 14 minutes through a well worked move involving Fraser and Harry Wilson, with the latter firing the ball into the back of the net. Fraser almost doubled their lead, but Clark cleared the ball off the line just in time, before Saint-Maximin hit the crossbar a few minutes later for the Magpies. However, the goal did come for Newcastle, Yedlin with a header from close range just before the break.
45' + 5' HALF-TIME: NEWCASTLE 1-1 BOURNEMOUTH
45' + 4' Harry Wilson plays a lovely low cross into the six-yard box, looking for a team-mate, but no-one gambled on the ball and Dubravka easily gathers.
45' + 2' The Newcastle supporters are urging their side forward now at the end of the half, they are the team who look the more likely to score again at the moment.
45' There will be a minimum of FIVE minutes added time played.
44' It's been a hectic few minutes and the break is now almost upon us, can either side put themselves ahead before the half-time whistle?
D. Yedlin
Goal
Newcastle United
42' GOOOAAALLL! Yedlin levels the scoreline for Newcastle, it's 1-1! The right-back sneaks in behind the Bournemouth defence, completely unmarked at the far post and powers a header into the back of the net from close range, after a cross in from the left by Saint-Maximin. The defender seemed to think he was offside and didn't celebrate much, but after a VAR check, the goal stands.
40' In his managerial career in England, Newcastle boss Steve Bruce has taken charge of 915 games in all competitions – this will be his first ever meeting with Bournemouth, making them the 87th different side he’s faced.
38' OFF THE BAR! Newcastle manage to break forward quickly and Saint-Maximin gets in behind Steve Cook, who made a mess of his clearance and it handed the Newcastle winger a chance at goal, with just Ramsdale to beat, but he goes for power with his shot and it cannons off the crossbar and away to safety. He should be scoring there.
38' Over! Harry Wilson steps up to take the free-kick, but it's a terrible effort as it sails high over the crossbar.
I. Hayden
Yellow Card
Newcastle United
37' Hayden is the first player to be booked after he trips Harry Wilson right on the edge of the penalty area. Free-kick to Bournemouth in a very good shooting position now.
36' OFF THE LINE! Brilliant defending by Clark to stop Bournemouth from doubling their lead. That's the closest the visitors have come to scoring again. Fraser is played through by a long ball over the top of the defence by Lewis Cook, he takes it around Dubravka, but Clark is there to block it.
34' Good spell of pressure by Newcastle, but their crosses into the penalty area are being well cut out by Steve Cook and Ake, who are winning everything in the air over Joelinton.
32' As we pass the half an hour mark here at St James' Park, it remains Bournemouth who lead 1-0 thanks to Harry Wilson's early goal. But it's a very open game at the moment, with neither team really taking control of proceedings.
30' Fernandez goes for the spectacular strike from long range after the ball falls nicely to him around 30 yards out. However, it doesn't have enough pace on it to beat Ramsdale, who makes a comfortable save.
28' Much better from Newcastle, they have the visitors penned back inside their own half at the moment and the Cherries are having to do a lot of chasing. However, they are doing a good job of keeping them out of their final third.
26' Bournemouth have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three Premier League games. They’ve never gone four games without conceding in the competition, last doing so in league competition back in March 2014.
24' Free-kick to Bournemouth in a decent position after Harry Wilson is brought down by Willems deep into the Newcastle half. However, the Magpies defend the ball well and clear the danger.
22' Decent effort! Joelinton receives a pass from Shelvey after a poor clearance out from the back by Ramsdale. The striker fires a low shot towards goal, but it takes a deflection and doesn't trouble Ramsdale, who makes a comfortable save.
P. Dummett
J. Lascelles
Newcastle United
20' Here is the enforced substitution, with Lascelles heading off the pitch and he has been replaced by Dummett, with Shelvey now taking the Newcastle captains armband.
18' Injury problem here for Newcastle, as Lascelles is down on the pitch again and it looks to be the same issue as earlier on, following the collision with Dubravka. Bruce might be forced into making an early change.
16' Newcastle haven't really got into their own rhythm just yet, with Bournemouth looking comfortable and they are constantly breaking forward on the counter, using their pace to good effect.
R. Fraser
Assist
AFC Bournemouth
14' Fraser has been lively today, causing Newcastle a lot of problems down the left and it is his creativity the leads to the opening goal, spotting the run of Harry Wilson, who peeled away from his marker and managed to fire the ball into the back of the net.
H. Wilson
Goal
AFC Bournemouth
14' GOOOAAALLL! Harry Wilson opens the scoring for Bournemouth, they lead 1-0! Lovely move by the visitors, they work a corner short, with Fraser drilling a low pass into the box, which Harry Wilson met around the penalty spot and fired the ball into the bottom left-hand corner of the net.
13' Despite the lengthy journey from Bournemouth to Newcastle, plenty of travelling supporters have made the trip up north and are making their voices heard inside St James' Park.
11' The home side lost each of the first three Premier League meetings between Newcastle and Bournemouth, but are unbeaten in the last three (W1 D2), with Newcastle winning this exact fixture 2-1 last season.
9'  Meanwhile Bournemouth make one change, with Lewis Cook returning to the starting XI, replacing Jefferson Lerma who is suspended for today's game.
9' SAVE! Newcastle break forward after the Bournemouth chance and have an opportunity of their own. Willems holds off the challenge of Smith just inside the penalty area and then fires a low strike towards the bottom right-hand corner of the net, but Ramsdale makes a good save, pushing it out wide and away to safety.
9' ALMOST! Bournemouth should take the lead, but Dubravka is there to deny the visitors the opening goal. King finds space down the right, he gets to the byline and plays a low cross into the six-yard box, looking for Fraser, who gets a touch on it under pressure. However, the Newcastle keeper makes himself big and smothers the ball.
8' Both teams are struggling to keep the ball at the moment, possession is constantly switching between the two teams, as they both work their way into the game.
6' CLOSE! Fraser with the first shot at goal of the game, he cuts inside from the left wing, after a quick counter by the visitors and fires a powerful strike towards goal, which flies just inches over the Newcastle crossbar.
4' Stoppage in play here as both Lascelles and Dubravka are down receiving some treatment from the Newcastle medical team, but it looks like they should be fine to continue.
2' Good defending! Callum Wilson breaks through on goal down the right wing and he sprints into the box, but his path is cut out by Lascelles, who tries to see the ball back to his keeper. However, the Bournemouth striker then pushes the Newcastle skipper in the back and he clatters into his own keeper.
