That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game.
Defeat will be tough to take for Chelsea, having played so well throughout the game and coming from behind to take the game to penalties. They return to Premier League action on Sunday, when they welcome Leicester to Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile Liverpool travel to St Mary's to face Southampton.
Liverpool clinch the Super Cup after a thrilling penalty shootout victory over Chelsea in Istanbul. The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes, following goals from Giroud and Mane, but there could've been a few more if it wasn't for some excellent saves by Kepa and Adrian. Mane put Liverpool ahead in the first half of extra time, but Adrian brought Abraham down in the box and Jorginho levelled the scoreline from the spot, to send the game to penalties. Adrian was then the hero at the end, saving the final penalty by Abraham to win the game 5-4 on penalties.

GOAL! No signs of nerves from the young midfielder, Mount makes it 3-3.

END OF EXTRA TIME: LIVERPOOL 2-2 CHELSEA
It looks like we will be heading to penalties here as it remains 2-2 and neither side are testing the opposition keeper. Not long left now.
Emerson gets into a good position down the left wing, but his cross into the penalty area is poor and flies straight out of play on the other side of the pitch.
Chelsea look the more dangerous side right now, with Liverpool struggling to keep the ball, but there are a lot of tired players out on the pitch now and it looks like we might be heading to penalties.
CLOSE! Great save by Adrian to deny Mount, the keeper has to get a powerful hand to that to push it away from danger. Chelsea keep the ball and continue to press, it falls to Azpilicueta, who tries to curl it into the top right-corner, but it flies just wide.
The pace has dropped now and neither team are showing much urgency to get forward and score a potentially winning goal.
Liverpool have won just one of their last six matches against Chelsea in all competitions (D3 L2), winning the last such contest between the two sides in the Premier League back in April (2-0), courtesy of goals from Mane and Salah.
Alexander-Arnold is booked after his late challenge on Mount.
The second half is underway!
It's been a hectic first half in extra time, with Mane putting Liverpool ahead early on, but Adrian then fouled Abraham in the box and gave away a penalty, which was confirmed after a consultation with VAR. Jorginho converted from the spot to level the scoreline.

HOW DID HE MISS? Abraham with a terrific opportunity to put Chelsea ahead, after Pedro plays a lovely ball into the six-yard box and the striker flicks the ball on after getting to it ahead of his marker. However, he somehow manages to put the ball wide of the far post.
Final Liverpool substitution as Mane comes off and he is replaced by Origi.
Chelsea substitution now, with Kovacic coming off and he has been replaced by Barkley.
GOOOAAALLL! Jorginho sends Adrian the wrong way from the penalty spot and he makes it 2-2! The midfielder just waited until the keeper had made a move and then slotted the ball into the other side of the goal.
CHELSEA PENALTY! Adrian brings Abraham down deep inside the penalty area, after the striker just gets a toe to the ball first and the Liverpool keeper clips the legs of the Chelsea man. The referee immediately points to the spot and after a VAR check the decision stands.

GOOOAAALLL! Mane puts Liverpool ahead, they lead 2-1! The striker powers the ball into the top right-hand corner of the net. Kepa had no chance of stopping that effort.
Liverpool are keeping the ball well in the opening few minutes, Chelsea are sitting deep inside their own half and just soaking up the pressure.
Liverpool have made a change ahead of extra time, with Robertson replaced by Alexander-Arnold.

CLOSE! Mane with a great opportunity to score late on, but he drags his shot wide! The striker is fed in behind the Chelsea defence, he's forced wide, but still manages to round Kepa and then tries to slide the ball into the back of the net, but the angle is too tight and it goes just wide.
Henderson is the first Liverpool player to be booked after he trips Emerson.
Another Chelsea substitution, with Christensen coming off the pitch and he has been replaced by Tomori.
GOAL RULED OUT! Chelsea have the ball in the back of the net again, but once again it is ruled out for offside. Mount races through on goal after being picked out by Jorginho, he then drills the ball into the far corner of the net, but he was just offside as he made his run off the shoulder of Gomez.
Into the wall! Salah steps up to take the free-kick, but it strikes the top of the wall and flies over the crossbar and out for a corner, which comes to nothing.
Azpilicueta is the first player to be shown a yellow card after he shoves Mane in the back after long ball forward. Free-kick to Liverpool in a good position, around 30 yards out.
Liverpool are just starting to find their rhythm again, keeping the ball well in the middle of the pitch and are starting to find gaps in the Chelsea backline.
WHAT A SAVE! Kepa somehow manages to keep the ball out to deny Van Dijk! The Chelsea keeper has to make two saves in quick succession, the first to deny Salah and he pushes that shot out wide, but straight into the path of Van Dijk who strikes the rebound, but Kepa gets a hand to it and manages to push it up onto the crossbar.
The other change sees Pulisic replaced by Mount.
Chelsea make a double substitution, with Giroud coming off and he has been replaced by Abraham.
It looks like Chelsea are about to make their first change of the game as well, with Barkley getting ready on the sidelines. The pace has really dropped now, there is less attacking intent by both teams at the moment.
Lampard appeared and started in two of the three Super Cup finals the Blues have contested, losing 1-4 against Atletico Madrid in 2012 and losing 4-5 on penalties against Bayern Munich in 2013 (2-2 AET), despite converting his own spot kick.
It looks like the Milner change might have been an enforced one, with the midfielder now sitting on the bench with a big ice pack on his knee.
Blocked! Pulisic finds space on the edge of the penalty area as the ball is dragged back to him and he fires it towards goal, but Gomez tracks him well and makes a good block to send it out for a corner.
Liverpool make their second substitution, with Milner the man coming off the pitch and he has been replaced by Wijnaldum.
There are a few tired legs out on the pitch now, it might be time for the managers to think about making some changes as we enter the final third of the game.
Giroud tries to get in behind the Liverpool defence once again, sitting on the shoulder on Van Dijk, but he is once again flagged offside.
Chelsea win their first corner of the second half after his cross is blocked by Gomez. However, the delivery from Pulisic is poor and misses everyone in the box.
It's now Chelsea who are having to sit deep and soak up all the pressure, they've been unable to get Pulisic and Pedro on the ball in the second half.
Since joining Liverpool in October 2015, Jurgen Klopp has won three of his nine matches against Chelsea in all competitions (D4 L2), including just one of the last six (D3 L2).
It's been a hectic start to the second half, with Liverpool constantly on the attack now and they are not letting the pace drop.
CHELSEA CHANCE! Emerson does brilliantly down the left, he skips past Gomez who dives into the tackle and misses, he gets to the byline and pulls the ball back to Giroud at the near post, but he can't sort his feet out quickly enough and it goes wide.
CLOSE! Liverpool are really threatening now and Fabinho goes close to putting them ahead just two minutes after equalising. Firmino lays it off to the midfielder on the edge of the box, but his powerful strike flies just wide of the post.
GOOOAAALLL! Liverpool are level, it's 1-1! It's a scrappy goal but they won't mind one bit. Mane getting the final touch to it to smash it home from a yard out. Fabinho chips the ball into the box and Firmino just gets to it ahead of Kepa. It then falls to Mane, who manages to react quickly and get the final touch to turn the ball into an empty net.
Liverpool have made a substitution ahead of the second half, Oxlade-Chamberlain making way with Firmino his replacement.
The second half is underway!
Liverpool will need to start keeping the ball much better after the break, as the Chelsea midfield trio are running the game at the moment. Plenty of work for them to do. Whilst Lampard will want more of the same from his side.
Chelsea lead at the break after a 36th minute goal by Giroud, his 12th goal for the Blues in Europe. It's been an open game, with both teams having chances to open the scoring, but Kepa denied Salah with a terrific save early on, before Adrian tipped Pedro's shot onto the bar to deny Chelsea. However, as the half went on Chelsea started to dominate and kept Liverpool penned inside their own half. The goal came after Kante drove forward from midfield, played it to Pulisic, who played it through to Giroud, who slid the ball into the bottom corner. Pulisic also had the ball in the back of the net a few minutes later, but it was correctly ruled out for offside.

HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-1 CHELSEA
There will be a minimum of one minute added time played.
Not long left to play until the break now, can Liverpool carve out a chance before the half-time whistle?
Liverpool look short of ideas at the moment, with Chelsea looking the better team and creating more chances in front of goal. The Reds can't get out of their half right now.
GOAL RULED OUT! Pulisic thinks he has made it 2-0 but the offside flag goes up and it's ruled out for offside. The winger sprints in behind Gomez after a lovely ball over the top by Emerson, but he made his run too early and is flagged offside. However, it's a terrific run and finish from the American, cutting inside and beating Gomez for pace, before slotting the ball past Adrian.
Giroud was the top scorer in the Europa League last season, netting 11 goals for Chelsea on their way to lifting the trophy; since his arrival in England, the Frenchman has scored six goals against Liverpool in all competitions – only against Sunderland (7), Southampton, Newcastle and Aston Villa (8 each) has he scored more.
Pulisic receives the ball off Kante and manages to slide the ball through to Giroud at just the right moment, who did the rest with a fine finish.
GOOOAAALLL! Giroud fires Chelsea ahead, they lead 1-0! They've dominated for the last few minutes and have finally got the breakthrough, with Adrian unable to do anything about this effort. They counter quickly, with Pulisic racing into the final third and he feeds Giroud, who just manages to stay onside on the edge of the box and the striker coolly slides the ball past Adrian and into the far corner of the net.
Liverpool are penned inside their own half at the moment, with Chelsea keeping the ball well and they are unable to string any passes together to get out of danger.
CHANCE! Another fantastic stop by Adrian to deny Chelsea! It's Kovacic again with the opportunity, after quick football around the Liverpool box leads to Kovacic being fed through the lines by Pedro and Adrian has to rush off his line to smother the ball, before Matip manages to smash the ball clear.
Save! Mane gets on the end of a corner delivery by Milner, but his header takes a deflection off a team-mate before flying towards the goal and this takes much of the power off the ball, so Kepa is able to make a comfortable save.
We're midway through the first half now and it remains goalless between Liverpool and Chelsea, but both teams have had one clear-cut chance to score and the keepers have pulled off excellent saves.
Good play! Pulisic is enjoying himself up against Gomez so far, he gets into a good position in the box and drills a lovely ball across the six-yard box for a team-mate, but Giroud and Pedro don't read the ball and it flies straight out of play. Someone should've been taking a chance on that.
This is the first meeting between Liverpool and Chelsea in European competition since April 2009 in the Champions League, when the two sides played out a 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge in the quarter-final second leg (Chelsea progressed to the semi-final 7-5 on aggregate).
Good effort! Giroud goes close with a overhead kick from just inside the Liverpool box, but Adrian is alert to it and allows the ball to sail wide of the post.
OFF THE BAR! Adrian with a superb save to deny Pedro from a tight angle after the winger was allowed space in behind and he blasts the ball towards the top right-hand corner, but the Liverpool keeper gets fingertips to it and manages to push it onto the crossbar, before it eventually goes away from danger. So close.
Good defending! Roberston is called into action to stop Pedro from running through on goal, after a good through ball between the centre-backs. However, the Liverpool left-back was alert and quick enough to just get to the ball first and clear the danger.
Both teams look dangerous on the counter, breaking forward in numbers and with pace, which is testing both defences at the moment.
GREAT SAVE! Salah goes close to putting Liverpool ahead but Kepa does brilliantly to deny him. The striker was played through on goal by Oxlade-Chamberlain and he only had Kepa to beat from a tight angle, but the keeper makes himself big and produces a fine save as Salah aimed for the bottom corner.
Five of the last six Super Cup trophies have been lifted by the reigning Champions League winners (Real Madrid in 2014, 2016 & 2017, Bayern Munich in 2013 and Barcelona in 2015), with the only exception being Atletico Madrid (Europa League winners) beating Real Madrid 4-2 in 2018.
Good block! Christensen does really well to prevent Mane from getting on the end of an excellent cross into the box by Henderson. The striker would've just had Kepa to beat from a few yards out, but the Chelsea centre-back got across well and put it out for a corner.
Close! Pedro does well down the right wing, he cuts inside and works space for a shot on the edge of the box, trying to curl the ball into the bottom left-hand corner. However, he doesn't get enough on it and it flies just wide of Adrian's goal.
Decent chance! Liverpool win a free-kick midway into the Chelsea half, it's lifted into the box and Van Dijk manages to control it and lay it off to Fabinho, who seems to get caught in two minds as to shoot or cross the ball. In the end, his effort is comfortably gathered by Kepa in the Chelsea goal.
Liverpool have settled nicely into the game now, but neither team are keeping the ball very well, a few too many sloppy passes in midfield, so possession is constantly switching between them both.
Penalty shout! Mane tries an acrobatic volley in the penalty area and it's blocked at close range by Christensen. A couple of Liverpool players appeal for a penalty, but just a corner is awarded to the Reds.
Chelsea with the early possession here, but Liverpool are pressing high up the pitch and not allowing them any time or space in their half. Pulisic almost gets down the left wing, after a quick one-two, but Matip is quickly across to make a good sliding tackle.
The teams are out on the pitch and kick-off is just a few minutes away. Stay tuned for all of the match action!

Giroud also comes into the starting XI, with Abraham dropping to the bench. Kante is also fit to start, after being limited to a cameo from the bench on Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp has made five changes to his starting line-up, with Adrian replacing Alisson in goal after he picked up an injury. Matip, Milner, Mane and Oxlade-Chamberlain also come into to team, with Alexander-Arnold, Wijnaldum, Divock Origi and Firmino missing out.
