Commentary

Thanks for joining us for this live coverage of Milan's 3-0 win over Genoa in Serie A.
Those three points for the visitors leapfrog them above city rivals Inter back into second place and with Napoli conceding late against Sassuolo, Milan are just a point off top spot. They host bottom side Salernitana next as they look to carry on their title charge. For the hosts, they remain in the bottom three as they are now 12 games without a win. They face a tricky test away to Juventus next as they look to get out of the relegation zone.
It's full-time, with Milan running out 3-0 winners. It's a very comfortable win in the end for the visitors, who took the lead after ten minutes with a brilliant Ibrahimovic free-kick that gave Sirigu no chance. They went on to dominate most of the first half and doubled their advantage in first-half added time as Messias sent a header looping over Sirigu as the ball rebounded up into the air, They killed the game off soon into the second half as a brilliant move led to Diaz laying the ball off for Messias, who superbly finished his second of the match to make it 3-0. They bossed the final half an hour and Genoa created little, leading to an easy victory for Pioli's men.

P. Pellegri
Z. Ibrahimović
Milan
60' Ibrahimovic, scorer of the opening goal with an exquisite free-kick, has been brought off for Pellegri.
58' This result would stop Milan losing three straight games for the first time since September 2019.

It feels as if it is going to be a tough ask for Genoa in the second half as they look to get back into the game. Can Shevchenko make the changes at half-time necessary to encourage a dramatic comeback?
So we go to the break with the score 2-0 to Milan. They took the lead after 10 minutes as Ibrahimovic sent a brilliant free-kick past a stationary Sirigu, who had no chance. Both teams were really kept to long-range efforts after that until Messias got his head to a rebound in the box, sending a looped header over Sirigu into the back of the net to put his side two goals in front.
45' + 4' HALF-TIME: GENOA 0-2 MILAN
45' + 3' It's a long way back for the hosts now as they face a two goal deficit.
Junior Messias
Goal
Milan
45' + 1' It's 2-0 to Pioli's men! Messias is the goalscorer as Messias sends a header looping over Sirigu as the ball rebounded to him to double his side's advantage.
45' There will be four minutes of additional time added on at the end of this first half.
44' Ghiglione crosses for Bianchi, but he sends his first-time half volley well over the bar. The final product is just lacking for the hosts at the minute.
42' So close for the visitors! Diaz shows lightning pace and dribbling skills to weave into the box before he sets his sights on the far corner. He lets fly, but his driven effort goes just over the bar.
40' With his first-half goal, Ibrahimovic has become the joint-26th highest Serie A scorer with Stefano Nyers and Hernan Crespo.
38' Messias receives the ball outside the area and shoots, however the direction of it is poor and it goes straight at Sirigu.
36' This is Kessie's 200th match for Milan in all competitions.
34' Genoa have posed more of a threat in recent minutes as they look to get back in this game.

28' Rovella cuts in from the left and rifles an effort at goal with his right-foot. However, it goes just over the bar.
26' Cambiaso wins a corner after some good work down the left however after a flick into the air, Maignan comes and claims it.
24' Across the big five European leagues, Rovella is the youngest midfielder to have started 14 games.
22' Sturaro makes a big interception at the back post to turn a cross behind before Hernandez can get on the end of it.
20' Vasquez absolutely clatters into Tonali, yet somehow escapes a booking.
18' Diaz does really well to win the ball upfield before he squares it to Ibrahimovic, however the Swedish striker's effort is blocked behind for a corner.
16' The hosts haven't been able to fashion a real clear-cut chance since the opening couple of minutes.
14' The visitors have won six of their last nine games against Genoa. Before that, they had lost four of the previous five meetings.

Z. Ibrahimović

9' Ekuban handles from a Kalulu shot from distance. This is in a dangerous shooting position as Ibrahimovic stands over it.
7' Ibrahimovic sends a dipping effort from 30 yards out towards goal, but it deflects wide for a corner.
M. Gabbia
S. Kjær
Milan
5' Kjaer is stretchered off, with Gabbia taking his place.
3' Kjaer is down injured and it doesn't look good for the centre-back as the stretcher comes onto the field.
2' Cambiaso fires one just over the bar as the ball falls to him in the box. The hosts have started the brighter here and perhaps should be a goal to the good.
1' The hosts kick us off and we are underway.
The two teams make their way out onto the pitch.
Visiting boss Stefano Pioli goes with six alterations from the 3-1 home defeat to Sassulo as the suspended Romagnoli is replaced by Tomori in the back line while Tonali and Kessie come in for Bakayoko and Bennacer in midfield. Kalulu, Messias and Krunic also start.
