Commentary

That's all from us tonight folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
France will now face either Spain or USA in the quarter-finals, who play eachother tomorrow. The hosts were cheered on by huge support tonight and that will continue as they progress.
France secure their place in the quarter-finals of the World Cup after a 2-1 victory over Brazil after extra-time. Gauvin put France ahead early on in the second half, but Thaisa equalised shortly after following a VAR check as the goal was originally ruled out for offside, but the video replays showed that the decision was incorrect. It went to extra-time and both teams had chances to win the game, with Debinha seeing her shot cleared off the line by Mbock Bathy. Henry was then the hero for France, poking the ball home from close range to send her side into the next round of the competition.
120' FULL-TIME: FRANCE 2-1 BRAZIL (AFTER EXTRA-TIME)
S. Karchaoui
A. Majri
France
118' France substitution as Majri limps off the pitch and she has been replaced by Karchaoui.
117' There are a few tired players out there now suffering with cramp as we enter the final few minutes of extra time.
116' Thiney the latest French player to go for goal, but she drags the ball well wide of the Brazil goal.
114' CLOSE! Diani has been superb tonight, she sprints down the right wing and probably should pass to a team-mate in the box but instead she goes for goal and tries to chip the ball over Barbara, but she gets too much on it and the ball lands on the top of the net.
113' Brazil have struggled to keep the ball since going behind and they are yet to test Bouhaddi in this second half.
111' Since making her debut in the Women's World Cup at the start of the 2015 tournament, only Le Sommer (5) has scored more goals in the competition for France than Henry (3)
E. Perisset
M. Torrent
France
109' France substitution as Torrent comes off and she has been replaced by Perisset.
108' Can Brazil respond quickly? France will surely just try and see the game out now, with just over 10 minutes left to play.
A. Majri
Assist
France
106' Majri delivered a superb ball into the box, straight into the path of Henry who had managed to beat the offside trap and get ahead of Monica.
A. Henry
Goal
France
106' GOOOAAALLL! France lead once again, Henry with the goal to make it 2-1! The France captain gets ahead of Monica as Majri whips the ball into the penalty area from a set piece. The midfielder pokes the ball home from close range, with Barbara having no chance of saving that!
106' The second half of extra-time is underway!
20' There will be a minimum of TWO minutes added time played.
France dominated much of the first half of extra-time, looking the more dangerous in front of goal, but Brazil had the best chance to score right at the end and they would be ahead if it wasn't for a superb piece of defending by Mbock Bathy.
105' + 2' HALF-TIME IN EXTRA-TIME: FRANCE 1-1 BRAZIL
105' + 1' OFF THE LINE! So close for Brazil as Debinha races through on goal, she cuts inside and beats Bouhaddi with her shot, it looks to be heading into the back of the line, but Mbock Bathy gets back and makes a superb block to deny her.
105' Good effort! France win a corner after Le Sommer's shot is blocked and Diani rises highest at the set piece, but her header it straight at Barbara, who makes a good save.
103' It's all France now, with Brazil sitting deep inside their own half with everyone back behind the ball trying to soak up the pressure.
Kathellen Sousa
Yellow Card
Brazil
101' Kathellen is booked after she brings Diani down. This yellow card means that she would miss the quarter-final game should Brazil progress tonight.
100' Almost! France have a corner and it is aimed at the far post towards Henry, who wins the header and powers the ball back towards goal, but Diani just can't reach it and it flies wide.
98' Another stoppage in play now as Bouhaddi is down in her box clutching her her knee after a collision with Geyse.
Geyse
Cristiane
Brazil
96' Here is the enforced Brazil substitution with Cristiane coming off and she has been replaced by Geyse.
95' Cristiane is really struggling with an injury now, she sat down in the middle of the pitch and it doesn't look like she is going to be able to continue. The medical team are on the pitch, but she's going to have to limp off.
93' France are keeping the ball better at the moment, but there has still been a few too many mistakes whilst they have the ball and haven't yet tested the Brazil keeper.
91' Extra-time is underway!
It finishes 1-1 in normal time, so we will play another half an hour of football to see if the game can be won before penalties. Gauvin opened the scoring for France, but Thaisa levelled the scoreline shortly after and pushed teams pushed forward in search of a winning goal, but just couldn't carve out the opportunity.
90' + 5' END OF 90 MINUTES: FRANCE 1-1 BRAZIL
90' + 4' CHANCE! Zaneratto just can't sort out her feet quickly enough after she is played through by Debinha and the Brazil striker efforts flies high over the crossbar.
D. Cascarino
V. Gauvin
France
90' + 3' Gauvin is brought off for France and she has been replaced by Cascarino.
90' + 2' It looks like this game is going to be heading to extra-time now, with no chances for either team in the last few minutes.
90' There will be a minimum of FIVE minutes added time played.
Poliana
Letícia Santos
Brazil
89' Another Brazil substitution now as Leticia Santos comes off and she is replaced by Poliana.
87' GOAL RULED OUT! Tamires has the ball in the back of the net and she thinks she won it for Brazil after finding herself in acres of space on the left and powers the ball past Bouhaddi. However, it is ruled out as Tamires was well offside as the ball was played through to her.
85' Brazil have now conceded four goals at the 2019 Women’s World Cup – they last conceded more at the 1999 edition (nine), a tournament in which they went on to finish in third place.
Beatriz
Yellow Card
Brazil
83' Zaneratto hasn't been on the pitch for long but she has already picked up a yellow card, after she fouls Torrent.
G. Thiney
V. Asseyi
France
81' France make their first substitution with Asseyi coming off and she has been replaced by Thiney.
80' Bussaglia's delivery is too close to Barbara, who gathers the ball comfortably in the air.
79' Free-kick to France in a good position after Le Sommer is brought down by Leticia Santos deep down the left wing. Good opportunity to get the ball into the penalty area.
77' There is still plenty of time left to play for someone to score the winning goal. At the moment France look the more likely of the two teams, they are pushing forward and look dangerous.
Andressinha
Formiga
Brazil
75' Another Brazil change now, with Formiga replaced by Andressa.
74' Good strike! Debinha with a strong effort from the edge of the box, trying to beat the French keeper at the near post, but Bouhaddi makes a strong save.
Beatriz
Ludmila
Brazil
71' Brazil make their first substitution of the game, with Ludmila coming off and she is replaced by Zaneratto.
Formiga
Yellow Card
Brazil
70' Formiga is booked after she trips Diani, who turns the Brazil midfielder and tries to break into the box.
69' Thaisa's equaliser for Brazil was her first goal at the Women’s World Cup in what is her seventh appearance in the competition.
67' Brazil are keeping the ball in their own half at the moment, just trying to find a way through the resilient France defence. The goal they've conceded tonight is just their second of the tournament and the first was a Renard own goal.
65' Brazil are full of confidence now, it's a lively game as both teams push forward in search of a second goal.
Thaisa
Goal
Brazil
63' GOOOAAALLL! Brazil are level, it's 1-1! Thaisa fires the ball into the back of the net after Debinha's cross is blocked by Renard and it falls perfectly to Thaisa, who slides the ball into the bottom corner. It's initially ruled out for offside by the officials, but after a VAR check it shows that Debinha was onside when she received the ball and therefore the decision is reversed.
61' It will be interesting to see when Brazil start to make some changes as they haven't really tested Bouhaddi since the Cristiane chance a few minutes ago, which is their only opportunity of the second half.
59' France are just keeping the ball now, trying to slow the pace of the game down, to prevent an equalising goal by Brazil.
57' Good response by Brazil to going a goal behind, they are showing more urgency to push forward and are causing the France defence a few problems.
55' OFF THE BAR! Cristiane powers the ball towards goal after Marta's set piece delivery into the box, but her header just has too much height on it and it strikes the top of the crossbar. So close!
54' France have never lost a Women’s World Cup match when they've scored the first goal, winning nine of the previous 10 such matches (D1), whilst Brazil have never won a game in the competition when they've conceded first (P9 W0 D2 L7).
K. Diani
Assist
France
52' Diani used her pace to great effect there, getting into an excellent position and then showing good composure to pick out Gauvin on the edge of the six yard box.
V. Gauvin
Goal
France
52' GOOOAAALLL! France break the deadlock, it's 1-0! This time the goal will count and it's Gauvin who has the ball in the back of the net again. It's wonderful play by Diani down the right wing, she drives into the box, beating her marker and pulls the ball back to Gauvin, who pounces onto it, poking the ball into the bottom corner.
51' Both sides need to show better composure on the ball, with far too many misplaced passes handing the ball back to their opponents.
49' However, France hold a good defensive line high up the pitch and they comfortably clear the ball that comes into the box.
48' Brazil with a free-kick in a decent position after Diani fouls Letica Santos and Marta is going to whip the ball into the penalty area.
46' The second half is underway!
France ended the half on top, the started to press forward in numbers and Majri had a good opportunity in stoppage time, but she fired the ball high over the crossbar. This game could go either way.
It's goalless at the break between France and Brazil, but France did manage to get the ball in the back of the net, with Gauvin scoring but it was ruled out for a foul on Barbara after the two players collided in the six-yard box, but Gauvin won the ball. However after a VAR check, the goal was disallowed. The game has been scrappy so far, with a few sloppy passes and little goalmouth action due to the lack of quality in front of goal.
45' + 6' HALF-TIME: FRANCE 0-0 BRAZIL
45' + 5' France are unbeaten in six Women’s World Cup games (5 wins and a draw which ultimately saw Les Bleues lose on pens to Germany in the 2015 Quarter-Finals), this after losing four of the six before that (W1 D1).
45' + 3' CHANCE! Excellent build-up play by France, as they switch the ball quickly and it finds Majri down the left, who runs at goal and then powers it towards the top corner, but she gets too much on it and the ball flies high over the crossbar.
Tamires
Yellow Card
Brazil
45' + 2' Tamires is booked after she loses the ball and then fouls Asseyi on the floor as the France player tries to break forward.
45' There will be a minimum of SIX minutes added time played, due to the lengthy VAR stoppage.
44' SAVE! Bouhaddi with a strong save to deny Cristiane at the near post after a good run by Debinha, she then lays it off to her team-mate who races through on goal. Cristiane tries to cross the ball to Ludmila in the six yard box, but it's too close to Bouhaddi, who has to make a fine save with her feet to stop it going into the back of the net.
42' The final delivery into the box has been poor for Brazil tonight, a few balls by Marta haven't been up to stratch and France are easily dealing with them.
40' There's just a few minutes left on the clock now, can either side break the deadlock before the half-time whistle?
38' Good effort! Marta whips a corner into the box after her initial free-kick is blocked but Brazil manage to keep the ball alive and win a corner. Cristiane meets the cross at the near post, but there isn't enough pace on it to beat Bouhaddi, who makes a comfortable save.
W. Renard
Yellow Card
France
36' It's just a yellow card for Renard for the tackle on Debinha, she caught the Brazil striker late and can't complain with that decision.
35' Poor tackle! Debinha is fouled by Renard after a late challenge by the France centre-back, she catches the leg of the Brazil striker and rips her sock. The Brazil players are furious with that challenge.
33' The home supporters are certainly making their voices heard here, it's a packed house in Le Havre, with the majority all being French fans.
31' We've just passed the half an hour mark here and it's still goalless between France and Brazil, with the only real chance of the game so far being the disallowed Gauvin goal. Neither keeper has had a save to make yet.
29' That disallowed goal has certainly kicked France into life now, the pace of the game has picked up, but we are still lacking quality on the ball.
27' Brazil are winless in their last three knockout stage matches at the Women’s World Cup (D1 L2), failing to score in two of those games. Their last such victory came back in the 2007 semi-final, beating USA 4-0.
25' We had a lengthy stoppage after the goal incident for the VAR review and both Barbara and Gauvin recieved medical treatment due to the collision.
23' GOAL RULED OUT! Gauvin appears to score the opening goal, but it doesn't look like she knew an awful lot about it! A cross comes into the box from the right wing by Diani and Gauvin goes up for the header as Barbara rushes out, the French striker gets to the ball first but is clattered by the Brazil keeper in the process. The ball then flies towards the bottom corner and crosses the line. The goal is awarded, but after looking at the video replay, the referee has ruled it out for a foul on the keeper.
22' The pace has dropped slightly in the last couple of minutes, but it's all in the middle of the pitch, with very little goalmouth action so far.
20' Marta has been heavily involved in the action for Brazil so far, full of energy in the middle of the pitch, linking up well with Debinha and Cristiane.
18' It's quite scrappy at the moment, with both teams unable to get on the ball for a sustained period of time. A few too many sloppy passes handing possession back to their opponents.
16' The resulting corner comes to nothing as Bouhaddi reads it well, comes off her line and she gathers the ball in the air.
15' Good block! Debinha fires a shot towards goal from the edge of the penalty area, it looks to be heading on target but Renard gets across to deflect it wide and out for a corner.
13' This is the second meeting between France and Brazil at the Women’s World Cup, with the two nations playing out a 1-1 draw the 2003 group stage.
11' Free-kick to France in a good shooting position as Thaisa clips the heels of Diani. It looks like Henry is going to fire it goalwards... It flies high over the crossbar.
9' Decent effort! Marta shows great skill to beat two France players on the edge of the box and then fire a shot towards goal, but she drags the ball wide.
8' The game is very open in these early stages, it's end-to-end but both teams are lacking a good final ball when they get into an attacking position.
6' Another France opportunity from a corner, it's a better delivery this time but Barbara does well again, this time punching the ball clear and setting up Brazil on the counter.
4' France with the first corner of the game, after Henry's cross is blocked. A good opportunity for the hosts, with Renard the big threat in the box. However, the ball is too close to Barbara, who does well to gather it in the air.
3' Brazil are enjoying the early possession here, but France are pressing them high so it's all in the middle of the pitch.
1' We're underway!
The teams are out on the pitch and the anthems are underway, so kick-off is just a few minutes away! Stay tuned for all of the match action!
The big teams news is that Marta is fit to play for Brazil, despite not being 100% fit. They make just one change to their starting XI, with Formiga coming into the midfield, with Andressinha dropping to the bench.
The hosts have made one change to their starting line-up that lined up against Nigeria last time out, with Asseyi starting as Thiney drops to the bench.
