Commentary

That's all from us, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye!
That close-run victory sees Chelsea bounce back from their 3-0 loss to Leeds, with the Blues now sat sixth in the table. Leicester remain winless, despite their best efforts late in the game, and will drop to the foot of the table if West Ham win their next game. Worrying signs for the Foxes, but based on their fight and spirit showed to search for an equaliser, they should be just fine.
If Leicester were to have scored and equaliser, it would likely have been set up by Tielemans, who provided so much creativity for the Foxes in that second half. The Belgian was unplayable at times, finishing with two blocked shots, six key passes, two good crosses, and made six tackles. He led the way for forward passes in Chelsea's half with 46, whilst winning 77.8 per cent of his duels, more than any other Leicester player.
What. A. Game! After the first half had everything but a goal, the second had them in spades! Sterling kicked off the scoring almost as soon as the second half kicked off, and doubled Chelsea's lead not long after. From then on though, it was all Leicester, with Barnes' superb strike getting them back into the game before they threw everything they had at Chelsea, but just couldn't find an equaliser!
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: CHELSEA 2-1 LEICESTER CITY.
90' + 4' Perez escapes Chilwell and crosses to the back post, but Silva's there again to head it behind for a corner!
K. Havertz
Yellow Card
Chelsea
90' + 3' Havertz brings down Amartey as he looks to start another Leicester attack, and the Chelsea forward is penalised and booked by the referee.
90' + 2' Dewsbury-Hall's free-kick is flicked on by Barnes in the box, but a towering header from Cucurella sees it clear of the danger!
B. Chilwell
Marc Cucurella
Chelsea
90' + 2' Cucurella has been excellent for his new side once more, and Ben Chilwell will take his place for the final moments of the game.
90' + 1' We're into four minutes of added time, which is plenty for Leicester to find that elusive second goal!
89' Leicester try another attack down the left, as Justin cuts the ball back to Barnes, but it's put behind for a corner by Azpilicueta.
W. Ndidi
Y. Tielemans
Leicester City
89' Tielemans has had the ball on a string in this second half, but comes off for the final few minutes as Wilfred Ndidi enters the fray.
87' OFF THE BAR!!! Amartey comes forward and picks out Perez in the box. He creates space and fires a shot beyond Mendy, but it smashes back off the bar!!! Another fantastic chance for Leicester to equalise!
85' More good play from Leicester sees Tielemans lay the ball off to Perez. He aims to find the far post with his effort, but can only send the ball sailing over the bar and behind.
84' WIDE!!!! What a chance!!! Leicester break and Perez hits a long pass forward for Vardy to race onto. He beats Chalobah to it, and rounds Mendy, but is forced wide and can only find the side netting when he shoots!!
82' Another lofted throughball from Tielemans breaks the Chelsea defence, with Castagne the man to race onto it this time. He floats a cross to the near post, where Silva is there to put it behind for a Foxes corner!
80' Leicester are camped in the Chelsea half at the moment, just looking for that final pass to find an equaliser with. They're being somewhat wasteful though, as Dewsbury-Hall's wide pass to Justin rolls straight over the sideline.
78' SAVED!!! Tielemans' ball over the top finds Vardy, who escapes Chalobah and is through on goal. Mendy comes out to narrow the angle, and he's able to parry the striker's shot wide!
77' Sterling's two goals have come from just three shots, and he's also completed a key pass in a brilliant performance up front for the Blues. Clinical.
77' A poor touch from Amartey allows Havertz to latch onto Kovacic's throughball, but his touch is then poor, allowing Evans to clear for Leicester!
C. Pulišić
R. Sterling
Chelsea
75' Sterling's two goals are the difference at the moment, and he comes off for Christian Pulisic to see out the game.
M. Kovačić
Jorginho
Chelsea
75' Jorginho's been quiet by his own high standards in this game, and is replaced by Mateo Kovacic for the home side.
73' WIDE!!! Tielemans strides through midfield before feeding Iheanacho in the box. He strikes first-time on his right foot, with Mendy bravely watching it roll just inches wide of his left post!
73' SAVED!!! Barnes jinks inside James before firing a low shot at Mendy's near post, but the Chelsea goalkeeper isn't caught out this time, saving well!
72' BLOCKED!!! Cucurella races down the left once again, before finding his opposite full-back with a perfect pass. James winds up to shoot from the edge of the box, but Justin gets in the way to block it!
70' Tielemans picks up a loose ball on the edge of the box and tries his luck, but it's blocked off a blue shirt and goes behind for a throw.
69' WIDE!!! Iheanacho's involved once again, taking a pass from Tielemans and curling a shot just wide from the edge of the box!
67' Jorginho fouls Perez for a Leicester free-kick, but Dewsbury-Hall's delivery is woeful and goes all the way behind for a Chelsea goal kick.

H. Barnes
Goal

66' GOOOOAAAALLLL!!!! They're pulled one back!!!! Barnes and Vardy link up down the left, playing a one-two that allows Barnes to escape Silva and smash a shot beyond Mendy and into the back of the net!!! 2-1, and it's game on once again!
65' Tielemans whips a cross into the box from distance, but Mendy can easily claim it and catch.
R. James
Assist
Chelsea
63' Great play between Havertz and James, with the ever-excellent movement of the latter freeing up space to cross for an unmarked Sterling!
R. Sterling
Goal
Chelsea
63' GOOOOAAALLLL!!!! He's got two!!! Superb play down the right between Havertz and James, who play a quick one-two to release the right-back. James fires the ball across the face of goal, where Sterling is waiting to tap it home for 2-0!!! A very well-worked goal indeed, and the 10 men of Chelsea are cruising here!
61' OVER!!! Iheanacho surges forward and beats several challenges before teeing up Barnes, but he can only curl his first-time finish over the crossbar!
60' Sterling holds off three challenges as he waits for support, which arrives in the form of Cucurella. He looks to beat Tielemans and cross, but can only put it behind for a goal kick.
58' SAVED!!!! Justin crosses into the area, where Barnes pops up in the middle. He heads low towards the bottom corner, but Mendy gets down to hold it!
57' Iheanacho picks up a loose ball and drives towards the box. He tries a left-footed effort from distance, but it's blocked away off Chalobah.

54' Forward come Leicester once again, as Barnes looks to cross into the box, but Mendy comes out confidently for it and holds the aerial ball.

Marc Cucurella
Assist
Chelsea
47' A good ball across from Cucurella gave Sterling plenty of space, and Amartey didn't get close enough until it was too late!
R. Sterling
Goal
Chelsea
47' GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLLLL!!!!! Chelsea lead!!!! Cucurella finds Sterling on the edge of the box, who takes on Amartey and shoots. It takes a nick off the Foxes defender, sending it looping over Ward and into the back of the net!!!! 1-0 to the hosts, and what a start to the second half!
46' Leicester kick-off the second half, via the boot of Vardy, and we're back underway!
César Azpilicueta
M. Mount
Chelsea
46' With Gallagher off and the Blues down to 10 men, Mount is withdrawn for Chelsea to bring on Cesar Azpilicueta at the start of the second half.
The teams head back out for the second half, and will we see some goals to give this game yet another twist?
Justin has been at his marauding best down the left for Leicester, going toe-to-toe with James at every opportunity. He leads the way for the Foxes in terms of touches and passes, and has also had a shot blocked. Defensively, he's won the ball six times, making a tackle, a block, and six clearances. Fox.
The first half ends, with the first 45 minutes having everything but a goal! Both sides have had chances, with Leicester having a goal ruled out, but it's Chelsea who have been the better team, despite Gallagher's early red card. How being down to 10 men will impact the Blues remains to be seen, with the second half set to be a cracker at Stamford Bridge!
45' + 4' HALF-TIME: CHELSEA 0-0 LEICESTER CITY.
45' + 4' SAVED!!!! Dewsbury-Hall's floated pass to Vardy is headed down by Silva, but Tielemans arrives in the box to tee up Praet. He smashes a first-time shot low, but Mendy gets down to parry it away!
45' + 3' Havertz looks to flick the ball beyond Amartey but can't get past the defender himself. He hits the deck, but the referee calls play on, and Ward recovers the ball for Leicester.
45' + 1' We're into three minutes of added time to close out this action-packed first half.
44' WIDE!!! A ball over the top from Castagne falls to Vardy, who escapes the defence and engages Mendy, but he can only drag his shot a yard wide of the post!
43' OFF THE POST!!!! Sterling floats the ball into the box where Mount is arriving late. Justin gets there first to head it away from goal, but James races onto the ball before smashing it against the post and out!
42' A good ball from James finds Sterling on the run down the left byline, but he is soon met and dispossessed by Soumare.
D. Praet
Yellow Card
Leicester City
40' Chelsea break down the right following the corner and Sterling looks to cut inside. He's met by Praet, who holds him back and takes him down to prevent the England forward escaping him, and the referee shows him a yellow card.
39' Castagne tees up Praet to cross from the right, and he does so, with another deflection off Cucurella winning Leicester a corner.
37' Silva almost gets caught out by a harrying Justin coming across, but he's able to get out of trouble and clear the ball up-field.
36' Leicester are looking to avoid failing to pick up a win in any of their opening four games of a league season for the first time since 2010-11 in the Championship, while they last did so in the Premier League in 2003-04.
34' BALL IN THE NET!!! Tielemans whips in a corner from the other side, and Barnes gets above Mendy to head it in off the post!!! He's judged to have impeded Mendy though, meaning he couldn't punch clear, and the goal will not stand!
33' Tielemans picks out Praet with a good ball across the field, and he forces a corner via a blocked cross off Cucurella!
K. Dewsbury-Hall
Yellow Card
Leicester City
31' There's pinball in midfield after Loftus-Cheek surges away on the counter, and Dewsbury-Hall slides in for a loose ball, catching Cucurella late and being shown a yellow card!
30' Two red cards in two games for Chelsea, who have an hour to play with just 10 men!
28' HE'S OFF!!!! A loose Cucurella pass from the corner gives Barnes a chance to streak clear, but he's taken out by Gallagher and hits the deck! It's a yellow card all day long, and Gallagher's second, which means the young Chelsea midfielder is sent off!
27' A James cross is whipped in, but hits the arm of Evans and goes behind for a corner. The arm was right by his side though, and so it's no penalty for the Blues.
26' A cross-field pass from Castagne sails over the heads of his team-mates and goes out for a throw. That sums up Leicester's start to this game, as they've struggled to create any form of sustained possession.
24' Leicester have won just two of their last 15 Premier League away games and have kept just one clean sheet in their last 27 on the road. Their two victories in the former run came against Burnley and Watford, both of whom were relegated last season.
C. Gallagher
Yellow Card
Chelsea
22' Dewsbury-Hall gets around the outside of Gallagher and is subsequently clipped by the Chelsea midfielder. He's penalised for the foul, and is shown the first yellow card of the match.
21' Evans is back on his feet and back amongst the action, as Brendan Rodgers and his staff breathe a collective sigh of relief.
20' Evans has stayed down following that tackle, and the Leicester captain looks to be in some discomfort as he receives treatment.
19' Havertz beats Evans to an aerial ball and heads on to Sterling. He turns and passes, looking to release his strike partner, but Evans slides in to skew the ball away from the German's path.
17' Chelsea go into this match in the bottom half of the Premier League, the first time they’ll do so for a league game since September 2020. Excluding season openers, the Blues haven't lost any of their last 20 games when starting in the bottom half, since a 2-1 defeat to Leicester in December 2015. That season, of course, the Foxes won their maiden Premier League title.
15' James looks to find Loftus-Cheek with an inside pass towards the box, but the midfielder can't keep hold of the ball and Leicester recover.
13' No penalty!!! The referee goes to VAR to check the challenge, but is alerted to an offside against Havertz in the build-up, meaning the penalty won't stand!
12' Penalty given!!!! Chelsea counter at speed as Loftus-Cheek releases Havertz. Loftus-Cheek gets the return ball back in the box, but gets caught by Tielemans in the box, with both players going to ground before the referee points to the spot!
11' Chelsea's set-up has changed from a 3-5-2 to a 4-3-3, with Cucurella dropping to left-back, and Mount pushing wider on the left wing.
9' Strong challenges fly in left, right and centre from both sides, as Chelsea struggle to advance the ball forward.
8' Leicester break up a Chelsea attack and hit back on the counter. Dewsbury-Hall looks to find Vardy, but it's a poor final ball that the hosts can cut out.
6' SAVED!!!! What a chance!!! Soumare loses out to Sterling in midfield and the winger races into the box. He looks for Loftus-Cheek at the far post and finds him with a low cross, but Ward gets across to block the shot behind with an outstretched hand!
5' Justin does well to keep possession and beats Gallagher on the turn, with a deflection behind off the Blues midfielder winning Leicester a corner.
4' Chelsea have started brightly and Cucurella looks to release Mount down the left, but Amartey holds firm in defence and ushers the ball out over the sideline.
2' Leicester have won just one of their last 10 Premier League away games against Chelsea, with the Foxes not scoring more than once in any of these 10 meetings.
1' Mount kicks off for Chelsea, and we are underway in West London!
The two sides head out of the tunnel onto the pitch, and we're nearly ready for kick-off at Stamford Bridge!
James Maddison picked up a knock in the Foxes’ 2-1 loss to Southampton, and misses out in one of three changes made by Brendan Rodgers. Youri Tielemans, Dennis Praet and Boubakary Soumare come into the side, in place of Maddison, Ayoze Perez and Wilfried Ndidi.
Chelsea’s defence, disastrous in the 3-0 loss to Leeds, sees one change, with Trevoh Chalobah coming in for Kalidou Koulibaly, who was sent off for two yellow cards at Elland Road. Edouard Mendy, whose howler gifted Brenden Aaronson a tap-in to make it 1-0, keeps his place, as do the rest of Thomas Tuchel’s XI.
LEICESTER CITY SUBS: Daniel Iversen, Caglar Soyuncu, Marc Albrighton, Kelechi Iheanacho, Ayoze Perez, Patson Daka, Nampalys Mendy, Wilfried Ndidi, Luke Thomas.
LEICESTER CITY (4-1-4-1): Danny Ward, Timothy Castagne, Daniel Amartey, Jonny Evans, James Justin; Boubakary Soumare; Dennis Praet, Youri Tielemans, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall; Harvey Barnes; Jamie Vardy.
CHELSEA SUBS: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Mateo Kovacic, Christian Pulisic, Armando Broja, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ben Chilwell, Hakim Ziyech, Cesar Azpilicueta, Ethan Ampadu.
CHELSEA (3-5-2): Edouard Mendy; Reece James, Thiago Silva, Trevoh Chalobah; Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, Jorginho, Conor Gallagher, Marc Cucurella; Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling.
It’s been an even worse start by Leicester, who lie 19th having lost two of their opening three games. With just one point earned so far, an opening day draw with Brentford, the Foxes need to find a victory from somewhere if they’re to avoid being pulled into a potential relegation battle.
After a 3-0 thumping by Leeds in their last match, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel and his side will be feeling the pressure to get their start to the season back on track, having won just once in their opening three games.
