Diego Simeone's side book their place in the final following one of the most memorable semi-final matches in recent memory! Xabi Alonso and Robert Lewandowski found the net for the hosts, but it was Antoine Griezmann's effort that proves vital in the end as Atletico progress on away goals. Bayern nearly took a stranglehold in the first half, but Thomas Muller failed to make it 2-0 from the penalty spot, before a spot-kick miss from Fernando Torres at the other end set the stage for a frantic finish at the Allianz Arena.

LEWANDOWSKI CAN'T CONNECT, OBLAK CLAIMS, AND THE FULL-TIME WHISTLE SOUNDS!!! ATLETICO ARE THROUGH TO THE FINAL!

BLOCKED! Gabi bravely sees aside Alaba's effort, after the left-back was teed up by Ribery! Was that the last chance or do Bayern have one last push in them?!

Koke is being shoved off the pitch now by these Bayern players as he's in no rush to get off, set to be replaced by Stefan Savic.

SIMEONE HAS LOST THE PLOT! The coach wants to make a change following a corner, but he's not allowed and he snaps on the fourth official! He lashes out at him and surely will be facing discipline for that! Play continues, but Coman misses with an ambitious attempt, and now Atletico will be able to make their switch.

Play has resumed, and it has been determined that there will be FIVE minutes added on at the end!

There should be a fair bit of stoppage time added on, as Oblak has stayed down following the save on Alaba. The medical staff has been out there for two minutes now as we hit the 90th minute.

BRILLIANT REACTIONS! The importance of that save cannot be understated! The ball comes to Alaba atop the area following a corner, and his half-volley is deflected by Partey. The change in direction goes against the momentum of Oblak, but the keeper somehow reacts to get down and keep it out!

What does this mean for Bayern? The tie could be done and dusted, but instead Die Roten still need just one goal to go through! They're motivated as ever now as they surge forward like a knife through hot butter to win a corner.

SCRAMBLED CLEAR! Frantic moments in defence for Atletico! Saul makes a fantastic block on Alaba's shot, but the pressure stays on. A cross is floated in for Muller from Ribery, but Oblak does just enough to prevent the header from getting off, before Carrasco ushers it out of harm's way.

STAT: Atlético Madrid have reached the European Cup/Champions League final twice (1974 and 2014), losing on both occasions. Bayern Munich have made it to the final of the competition on 10 occasions, the third-most behind Real Madrid (13, before this season) and AC Milan (11).

The Allianz Arena is booming now! The noise level is higher than it's been all evening, as Bayern keep pushing for the third. Ribery is finding himself at the focal point in attack, getting on the ball at every opportunity to facilitate his side through the final third.

BAYERN HAVE LIFE AGAIN! There's a real buzz about them now! They have the bit between their teeth as they search for the third and decisive goal that would book their ticket to Milan for the final. Atletico are going to be under all sorts of pressure in these final 15 minutes!

STRAP IN, WE'RE HEADED FOR A REMARKABLE FINISH! Nearly every Bayern attacker has a touch on the ball in the build-up, before Alaba's cross is headed back into the danger area by Vidal for Lewandowski, who bundles it into the gaping goal! Bayern lead on the night, but they're still behind on away goals!

Diego Costa isn't happy as his number is called, with Bayern making their first change. He's been lively tonight, but the end product just hasn't been there. On in his place is Kingsley Coman.

OBLAK AT IT AGAIN! The keeper continues to prove instrumental for this Atletico side as he scurries over to his near post to deny Lewandowski from in close after a clever move from the hosts! That will serve as a bit of encouragement for Bayern, however.

Frustration is starting to set in for Bayern as they're kept to the periphery, being limited to sending in hopeful crosses and long-range strikes. Guardiola will be watching this and wondering if he can afford any longer before making a change.

OBLAK WON'T BE BEATEN AGAIN! He's so assured in goal! His starting position is always excellent, that even when these passes or shots do come in, he doesn't have far to move to get to them. Alonso provides the latest test, but Oblak is quick to get down to his left and keep it out.

STAT: Bayern Munich have made it to the Champions League semi-finals in six of the last seven seasons. However, they have been knocked out at this stage by a Spanish team in each of the last two campaigns (Real Madrid in 2013/14, Barcelona in 2014/15).

Boateng lifts an inviting cross into the area for Martinez, but the centre-half lifts a header over the bar. Bayern haven't advanced from a semi-final when trailing after the first leg since 1982, and the odds are stacked against them now yet again. It's become eerily quiet in the Allianz Arena.

Atletico just have so many bodies back in defence when Bayern get forward, making it so hard on the hosts to try and carve out an opening. The Griezmann goal is so costly, not just because of what it means in the scope of the tie, but because it affords the visitors the luxury of focusing all their efforts on defending.

The goal has sent a jolt of life into the Atletico side. They're back in possession again, working it around smartly in the attacking half with Bayern working fervently to win it back. Juanfran gets on the end of a pass from Luis, but the right-back's effort is sent wide of the far post.

Bayern have their work cut out for them now. They need three to advance, provided Atletico don't score again. It's going to be crucial for them to take it one goal at a time. Atletico don't concede many, so if Die Roten approach it with the mindset that they have to score as quick as possible, they could grow frustrated and run into a few problems.

STAT: Atletico Madrid have always progressed in their last six home/away knockout encounters with German sides in European competition. Dynamo Dresden were the last German team to eliminate them, back in the 1979/80 UEFA Cup first round.

ATLETICO HAVE THEIR CRUCIAL AWAY GOAL! As Eminem taught us, you need just one chance, once opportunity - and that's the one Atletico have been waiting for! It's a mistake from Bayern as Griezmann gets away from the defence as he's played through on goal by Torres, and he makes no mistake in beating Neuer at the near post! Bayern need to win by two now to progress!

Carrasco has provided an immediate spark to the Atletico attack, as he's used his pace effectively to get up the pitch and provide a bit of respite for the defence. The visitors were lacking that link between defence and attack in that first half, but the Belgian has filled the void admirably thus far.

VITAL BLOCK! Uncharacteristic play from Atletico as they take a few chances in some dangerous areas in defence, playing around with the ball rather recklessly. It allows Costa to win it back high up the pitch before pulling it back for Vidal, but the Chilean's first-time effort is turned aside by Godin!

It doesn't look as though the change has resulted in a swap in formation for Atletico. Carrasco has moved out to the flank, but Koke has dropped deeper to fill the spot left vacant following Augusto's departure. The swap does, however, give the visitors the flexibility to move to a 4-3-3 should they need a goal at any point.

Augusto is replaced at the interval after a less than convincing first 45 minutes, with Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco on in his place.

Back underway in Germany!

Xabi Alonso's free-kick, with the aid of a Jose Gimenez deflection, has the tie level with three-quarters of the semi-final in the books. Bayern seemed poised to take their first lead of the two-legged tie when the Uruguay centre-half stepped to the forefront again in conceding a penalty just minutes after Atletico had fallen behind, but Jan Oblak rose to the occasion to bail out his young defender. As a result, extra-time still remains a possibility as the match remains wonderfully poised ahead of the second half in Germany.

HALF-TIME: BAYERN 1-0 ATLETICO.

Groans are heard throughout the stadium as the board goes up to indicate just one minute of stoppage time at the end of this first half. The Bayern faithful feel there should be more.

The visitors have done well to take the sting out of the match now as they appear poised to get into the break trailing by just the one goal. They will have to dig deep within themselves to find the energy and focus that will be required to keep out this ruthless Bayern attack for the final 45 minutes.

HOW'S THAT FOR A CLEARANCE?! Atletico are caught for the first time lacking numbers at the back with Bayern on the break. Costs tries to play the ball across for a wide-open Lewandowski in the centre, but a swan dive from Gimenez sees him divert it away from the striker with his heel! That's not something you see every day.

Atletico find their legs to spend a much-needed spell in the attacking half. They create next to nothing with it, but it's allowed the defence to grab a breather and collect themselves following a hectic 10-minute spell.

What an incredible half of football this has been in Germany! Atletico lost their heads for a moment, caused by Bayern's relentless attacking pressure, and the hosts appeared set to go ahead on aggregate before Oblak's heroics. It remains level on aggregate, and the tempo refuses to slow with half-time approaching.

STAT: Bayern Munich have won their last 11 Champions League home games, scoring 41 goals and conceding only six along the way. If they beat Atletico tonight, they will equal the all-time Champions League record of 12 consecutive home wins currently held by Manchester United.

It's a poor penalty in the end from Muller who, despite hitting it with good power, left it too close to the centre of the goal as it allowed Oblak to get his hands to it.

OBLAK TO THE RESCUE! Atletico are saved again by their keeper, as he guesses right to keep out Muller's penalty, before sticking with it to deny Alonso on the follow-up! That is sensational!

PENALTY TO BAYERN! The tie has been flipped on its head! Gimenez has completely lost his nerve! The defender doesn't track the run of Martinez as a cross comes in from the left, and clearly drags him to ground to prevent him from getting his head to it! The referee didn't hesitate for a second there.

The goal had been coming, in fairness, but it's a harsh one for the visitors to concede as it was heading straight for Oblak before the deflection. Nonetheless, it's game on at the Allianz Arena!

ATLETICO'S RESISTANCE IS BROKEN... and parity is restored in the semi-final! A late tackle from Augusto on Alaba concedes a free-kick directly atop the area. Alonso takes, and his powerful strike finds its way through the legs of Gimenez, taking a slight deflection off the defender to wrong-foot the keeper and tickle the back of the net! It's the first goal Atletico have conceded in 633 minutes!

PENALTY APPEALS DENIED! More great interplay from Bayern down the right, as Lahm and Costa work a clever move to get into the area. The Brazilian's cross attempt is deflected into the arm of Augusto, but he knew little about it and the Turkish referee waves play on.

GREAT COVER! Atletico get men behind the ball so quickly, taking less to no time to recover their shape. A corner comes to nothing and Bayern look to break, but Gabi makes up so much ground to get over and intercept the Frenchman's pass, stopping what was shaping up to be a dangerous attack!

STAT: Atletico Madrid have not conceded in 627 minutes and counting now across all competitions, since a 3-1 victory away to Espanyol on the ninth of April.

HOW HAS THAT STAYED OUT?! Ribery latches onto a pass and drives an effort at goal from distance. He gets great bend and power behind it, as Oblak fails to catch, spilling it into the path of Lewandowski who can't knock the rebound into the net under pressure from the keeper's recovery challenge!

OUSTANDING GOALKEEPING! Muller's movement in the area is so difficult for opposing defences, and he uses it to perfection here to get on the end of a ball over the top, before playing Lewandowski through with a brilliant first-time ball. The striker has a clean look at the near post, but Oblak is off his line in a hurry and makes himself big to deny the striker with a kick save!

SMART SAVE AT THE OTHER END! Oblak made that one look easy too, didn't he? Vidal sure knows how to strike the ball and he makes excellent contact with an effort from atop the area, trying to pick out the far corner, but the keeper gets across to not only make the save but hold onto it as well!

Costa is swarmed by Atletico defenders on the flank but still manages to get a cross in. It takes a deflection into the path of Muller, whose shot winds up being a flick on for Lewandowski. The striker has a clean look at goal from in close, but can't adjust his body to make contact!

CRUCIAL SAVE! He just makes it look so easy! Atleico do counter down the flanks, finding space behind Lahm before a ball into the centre finds Gabi atop the area, but his first-time effort is denied by Neuer! That was a very difficult save for the keeper, and an important one at that. An away goal for Atletico would be detrimental to Bayern's hopes of advancing.

Juanfran does very well to come across and provide cover on Lewandowksi, forcing the striker to send a shot wide from in close. Bayern keep the pressure on, however, as they press high up the pitch and Luis has a bit of a nervy moment as he nearly gives the ball away in the area - but Oblak is quick to rescue his full-back.

With Bayern so keen to bomb their full-backs forward, Atletico would be wise to spray the ball out wide when they do win back possession and get on the counter, in order to exploit the space behind Alaba and Lahm. That being said, their wide men are having to do a lot of tracking back to compensate, so the options aren't always there on the break.

Bayern are really starting to impose themselves now, and there's a lovely width about them as Alaba and Lahm power forward on the overlap. The Austrian links up well with Ribery on the left, who sends an inviting ball in for Lewandowski which is knocked behind for Die Roten's second corner of the match.

STAT: 69% of teams who have won 1-0 at home in the first leg of a Champions League knockout tie have progressed to the next round (20 out of 29).

Gabi is so crucial to this Atletico side, but in an unglamorous role in midfield and with a wealth of options available to the Spanish national team, he doesn't always get the recognition he deserves. But the responsibility will fall on his shoulders this evening to suffocate Xabi Alonso's attempts to facilitate the ball around in possession, and the Rojiblanco's man has had a lively start to the match.

Bayern enjoy a positive start as they ask a few early questions of this daunting Atletico defence. The visitors enjoy a bit of possession themselves, however, sure to provide a bit of respite for their defenders, but Fernando Torres is deemed to be offside as their maiden foray into attack comes to an end.

And we're off! It's a spirited atmosphere in Munich as Atletico get the game under way, kicking left to right in their dark changed strips, with Bayern all in red.

Diego Godin missed his first match of the Champions League this season in the first leg, but the defender returns tonight to bolster arguably the best back-four in Europe. His inclusion sees Stefan Savic dropped to the bench, in what is the only change made to the starting line-up by Diego Simeone as he opts not to tamper with a winning formula following a 1-0 success in the Spanish capital less than a week ago. Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco has also returned from injury, though he's forced to settle for a spot on the bench.

Pep Guardiola's side are boosted by Jerome Boateng's inclusion in the XI tonight. The centre-half returned on the weekend for just over an hour for first time since injuring himself on January 22, and partners Javi Martinez tonight, pushing David Alaba to his natural position at left-back and Juan Bernat to the bench. It is one of three changes made by the hosts, with Franck Ribery, who was considered a doubt having missed the Gladbach clash on Saturday, stepping in for fellow countryman Kingsley Coman, while Thomas Muller is preferred to Thiago Alcantara to provide support for Robert Lewandowski who continues to lead the line.

CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:

Bayern have the domestic title wrapped up, so their focus rests solely on the Champions League now, while Atletico are in the midst of a neck-and-neck race for La Liga glory heading into the final two matches of the season. Every match they have played over the last few months has held significance, but it remains to be seen whether that has left them greater prepared for tonight, or if fatigue will start to play an issue.

This is just the second meeting between the two clubs in Europe, with Bayern getting the better of the first, denying Atletico their first success in the competition with a 4-0 victory in the 1974 European Cup final in Brussels. The two clubs have trended in opposite directions since, with Die Roten going on to experience great success in Europe, while Atletico are left chasing their elusive first title.
