That's all from Bergamo today, so thank you for joining us and goodbye!
After dropping two points in today's game, Milan must tackle a pair of Emilian opponents over the course of the next 10 days - first Bologna, then Sassuolo - while Atalanta's next engagement will be away at Hellas Verona, a week from now.
As a result of an underwhelming display in the final third - just a week after they fired four past Udinese - a single point is all Milan leave with today, partly due to dogged resistance by their hosts. Atalanta stuck to their task of soaking up pressure and were rarely broken through - though with some more clinical finishing, their local rivals could have stolen the win in the second half. All in all, a draw was the fairest result.
M. de Roon
Yellow Card
90' + 5' A tired and hopelessly mistimed tackle by De Roon on De Ketelaere earns the former a yellow card.
90' + 3' The home side are happy to run down the clock by the right touchline, taking an age over a couple of throw-ins before Muriel buys a cheap free-kick from a frustrated Kalulu.
90' + 1' In the first minute of five added for stoppages, Atalanta remain penned inside their own half. Milan's attempts at finding a way through their Nerazzurri wall, though, are lacking a little urgency.
N. Zortea
J. Mæhle
89' A late change on the left flank sees Maehle make way for Zortea.
88' Atalanta manage to force consecutive corners, but both ultimately come to nothing for the hosts, who would surely settle for a point at this stage.
86' Milan continue to probe patiently in search of a winner, but Hernandez grows tired of such a build-up and takes a pot-shot straight at Musso from the left side of the box.
A. Florenzi
D. Calabria
84' Milan captain Calabria takes his leave, to be replaced by Florenzi at right-back; Hernandez is passed the armband.
84' Muriel pulls the ball dangerously across the six-yard box, but none of his attacking colleagues are quick enough to react, and Milan clear the threat without too much trouble.
C. Okoli
B. Djimsiti
82' Having taken a knock in attempting to prevent Origi's shot, Djimsiti is forced to hobble off. Okoli comes on to replace him in the hosts' back three.
80' Deft footwork from Origi allows him to floor Demiral, after receiving the ball on the edge of the area from Hernandez, but a slip prevents the Belgian striker getting a clean shot on goal.
T. Hernández
Yellow Card
78' Following a scuffle involving several players, after his coming-together with Djimsiti, Hernandez is also yellow-carded.
B. Djimsiti
Yellow Card
78' After a crunching challenge with Hernandez, Djimsiti reacts angrily and is subsequently booked.
S. Tonali
Yellow Card
75' For hauling back the fresh-legged Lookman in midfield, Tonali is shown a merited yellow card.
A. Lookman
R. Malinovskyi
73' The third change of a triple substitution offers Lookman another chance to make an impact, after his goal last weekend; opening scorer Malinovskyi is withdrawn.
G. Scalvini
M. Pašalić
73' Gasperini also introduces young Scalvini, as Pasalic sees his shift brought to an early end.
L. Muriel
D. Zapata
72' With just one goal in his last 14 Serie A matches, Zapata cuts a disappointed figure as he makes way for his fellow Colombian, Muriel.
70' As Atalanta's hopes of holding out have been shattered, Gasperini seems poised to throw on some substitutes in order to wrest the momentum away from Milan.
A. Saelemaekers
68' With a short corner, Saelemaekers earns an assist, though Bennacer takes the credit for finishing off the move in great style.
I. Bennacer
68' MILAN PULL LEVEL! Bennacer brings his side back to parity with a screamer! After Musso races out of his area to nod the ball out for a throw-in under pressure, he then has to scramble back to make a save from Bennacer's initial shot. From the resulting corner, the Algerian steps inside to curl an unstoppable shot into the top-left corner from 20 yards! It's 1-1!
A. Saelemaekers
Junior Messias
66' Pioli also switches things up on the right flank: Messias makes way for Saelemaekers.
D. Origi
Rafael Leão
66' Leao is the latest man to be withdrawn for Milan; Origi is his replacement.
65' CLOSE! Milan are turning up the heat now, as Messias glances a header narrowly wide of the post, following Tonali's cross. Surely they can break down La Dea's resistance soon?
63' Leao drives inside from the left, before laying the ball off to Bennacer outside the box. The Milan midfielder then picks out Giroud in the area, but a header by the Frenchman is saved easily by Musso.
60' SAVE! Musso is called into action, as De Ketelaere makes an immediate impact by threading a throughball into the path of Tonali, who draws a smothering save from the Atalanta keeper.
O. Giroud
A. Rebić
58' Rebic has been unable to replicate last week's feats, so Giroud is introduced in his place up front.
C. De Ketelaere
Brahim Díaz
58' Pioli has finally seen enough and opts for a double substitution. First, the ineffective Diaz makes way for big-money buy De Ketelaere.
57' SAVE! After Koopmeiners feeds a lofted ball into the box from the left, Pasalic finds space to plant a header on target from near the penalty spot, but Maignan is equal to it and calmly tips the ball over the bar.
55' In the first 10 minutes of the second half, Milan have increased their dominance of the ball: the visitors have had a 66 per cent share of possession since the break.
53' CLOSE! Milan are edging nearer to an equaliser, as Leao is allowed to drift dangerously in from the flank before unleashing a shot from the brink of the box. It flies just wide, though, and again, Atalanta escape!
51' After a narrow escape at the other end, Atalanta counter: Hateboer heads over on the stretch, from just outside the six-yard box.
50' MISS! After a long delay, Bennacer flips his free-kick into the area from the left-hand side, and Kalulu rises highest to meet it with a firm header. However, his effort rises over the bar, when he really should have struck the target under little pressure.
H. Hateboer
Yellow Card
48' Leaving Leao howling in pain, an awful studs-first challenge from Hateboer results in a yellow card for the Atalanta wing-back.
46' Neither manager has made a half-time change, and we are back under way in Bergamo!
While Atalanta have no reason to alter their reactive approach, Milan must mix things up a little if they are to turn the scoreline around in the second half - how long will it be before Origi, Giroud or De Ketelaere are introduced?
An unconvincing display from Milan sees the champions trail by a goal at half-time, to a home side intent on making their life difficult. Far from their buccaneering style of old, Atalanta have dug in and struck on one of their rare forays forward, and they will feel such a gameplan has been justified to this point. With the visitors' entire front line appearing out of sorts, Pioli will surely be weighing up changes at the interval, as he seeks a way back into the match.
A. Rebić
Yellow Card
45' + 1' A late challenge with studs showing earns Rebic a yellow card, as the striker's frustration gets the better of him.
45' From a second corner in succession, Tonali's cross almost picks out Kalulu in the six-yard box, then Calabria swipes an volleyed attempt way over the crossbar when it breaks to him just outside the area.
43' Hernandez has a pop at goal from well outside the area, but the ball is charged down by a flurry of Nerazzurri shirts and glances behind for a Milan corner.
41' After a collision with Leao, Malinovskyi goes down briefly, but the goalscorer soon returns to his feet and the game goes on.
39' Having evaded Bennacer with a neat first touch into space, Malinovskyi thumps another effort towards goal from 20 yards, but this time his strike sails high over Maignan's crossbar.
38' Again, Milan begin to force their hosts back and are dictating play, but they don't look like breaking down a resolute Nerazzurri back line.
36' A clear pull on the shorts of Zapata sees Kalulu concede a needless free-kick midway inside the Milan half, but Atalanta fail to make anything of the set-piece opportunity.
34' With a speculative attempt from a central position, Leao unleashes a shot from outside the box, which is comfortably saved in the bottom-right corner by Musso.
31' As Milan look to strike back, Bennacer's corner is met by a towering leap from Kalulu, but the defender's header lacks direction and runs well wide of the right-hand post.
J. Mæhle
29' Picking out his colleague on the right side of the box, Maehle rolled a well-weighted ball into Malinovskyi's path for the opening goal.
R. Malinovskyi
29' ATALANTA LEAD! Malinovskyi strikes! With typical aplomb, the Ukrainian midfielder sweeps home a powerful left-footed effort from the edge of the box, and Atalanta go 1-0 up against their local rivals! He received the ball from Maehle and made absolutely no mistake - Maignan was left floundering!
27' Bennacer brings down Malinovskyi, and Atalanta have a free-kick inside the Milan half.
25' So far, Milan have had 58 per cent of the possession and are seven percentage points ahead in terms of passing accuracy - they are clearly the team on top.
23' CLOSE! An excellent chance is spurned by Milan, as Messias fires into the side-netting after latching on to a sweeping crossfield ball from Hernandez, who switches the play effortlessly from left to right. Despite a narrowing angle, the Brazilian should surely have done better!
22' That's a complete waste of the set-piece by Milan, as Hernandez thumps the free-kick straight into Atalanta's defensive wall.
21' Toloi must be careful here, as he concedes a foul on Rebic, not long after being yellow-carded. As a result, Milan have a free-kick around 30 yards from goal, on the right side of the area.
19' Tonali unconvincingly shoots from outside the box, but his 20-yard effort misses to the left side of Musso's goal.
19' Having had some medical attention on the touchline, Hernandez is fit enough to return to the fray.
18' After a coming together between De Roon and Hernandez, the latter is left crumpled in heap on the turf, and proceedings are eventually brought to a halt while he receives treatment.
R. Tolói
Yellow Card
16' For a crude block on the fast-escaping Leao, Toloi receives today's first booking. It looks like he left his shoulder in there!
15' Toloi goes down under a challenge from Rebic, who has not been able to get on the ball too much in the opening stages. Atalanta have a free-kick deep inside their own half.
14' Before today's game, Milan have suffered only one league defeat at the Gewiss Stadium since 2016 - though that was a 5-0 thumping in December 2019.
12' Milan's grasp of territorial advantage is growing now, as the hosts' Nerazzurri shirts all file back into the defensive third.
10' Proactive positioning by Musso sees the Atalanta goalkeeper smother a promising throughball by Diaz, who spots Hernandez making one of his characteristic sprints into the box from the left flank.
8' After Zapata holds the ball up and lays it off on the edge of the box, his strike partner Malinovskyi swipes the ball wide of the right-hand post with a slightly scuffed attempt. Given his prowess from that range, the home fans would have been expecting better.
6' There has been a lively tempo to the early stages of this local derby, and Atalanta are starting to find their feet; moving the ball around in midfield without really threatening to break down their visitors.
4' Maehle has a go at goal from a tight angle on the right, but his effort sails high and wide of the Milan goal.
3' Leao is involved again, as the Portuguese forward steers a shot tamely into Musso's gloves from the right side of the area.
2' Moments after firing a shot off target, Leao embarks on a typical run through the centre of the pitch towards the area, but De Roon halts his progress with a vital tackle.
1' We are under way in Bergamo, as Atalanta kick off!
The players have emerged from the tunnel and onto the pitch at the Gewiss Stadium, with kick-off now just moments away!
After scoring twice at San Siro last week, Rebic starts up front for Milan again, with Giroud and Origi therefore consigned to the bench; veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains sidelined by a long-term knee injury. Pioli makes only one change, as midfield regular Tonali returns following a muscular problem, coming in for the injured Rade Krunic.
Atalanta name Malinovskyi in their starting XI today, despite talk of his forthcoming departure, and he joins Zapata up front as Muriel drops to the bench. Gian Piero Gasperini is still without Ederson due to injury and centre-back Jose Luis Palomino remains suspended due to an alleged doping violation that is under investigation. In the latter's absence, Demiral is brought into the hosts' back three, while recent arrivals Lookman and Soppy are among the substitutes.

Without missing a beat, Milan returned to winning ways on the opening weekend, having posted six straight victories to close last season and secure the club's first Scudetto for 11 years. Stefano Pioli's men made it seven in a row with a 4-2 win over Udinese last Saturday and now tackle their first test on the road. The Rossoneri have not had to roam far today, as they make the short trip to Bergamo from the second city, aiming to continue a fine away record featuring 14 wins from 19 attempts in Serie A last term.
After enjoying a successful start to the Serie A season last weekend, Atalanta meet Lombardy rivals Milan in their opening home fixture of the 2022-23 campaign. La Dea saw off Sampdoria and now seek to win their first two top-flight matches for just the fourth time in the club's history. Mirroring their decline over the past year - following a period of glorious overachievement - the Nerazzurri have lost each of their last three league games against today's visitors, having gone unbeaten in 10 of the previous 11.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of today's Serie A encounter between Atalanta and Milan at the Gewiss Stadium, Bergamo!
