GAME PREVIEW

Defending champions Aizawl FC have their task cut out when they host Minerva Punjab on Wednesday. The Reds from Mizoram have had a mixed start to their title defence while their opponents have been flying high and sit atop the table.

Paulo Meneses' side have had a win, a draw and a loss in their three games so far and occupy the ninth spot, though most other teams have played more games than them. After holding East Bengal to a 2-2 draw in the opening game of the season, they went on to defeat Churchill Brothers. However, their previous game was a disappointing 1-0 defeat to rivals Shillong Lajong where Aizawl could not really sparkle in attack.

The Mizoram-based side have to up their ante on Saturday if they are to pick points against Minerva Punjab, who have looked sharp in attack in their five games so far.

Khogen Singh's side sit in first place in the table with 13 points from five games already. They are yet to taste defeat in the league and have been scoring freely, thanks to Chencho Gyeltshen's impressive shifts in attack.

Can Minerva Punjab keep their stunning run in the league going or will the defending champions strike form at home?
