Slovakia 2-3 Bosnia-Herzegovina: Dzeko On Target In Deserved Win

Slovakia 2-3 Bosnia-Herzegovina: Dzeko On Target In Deserved Win

It was an impressive display from the Bosnians with their array of attacking talent proving too hot for the Slovakians to handle.

Bosnia-Herzegovina overcame a poor recent away record, as well as an early Slovakian goal to record a deserved 3-2 win over Slovakia in Bratislava.

There was an early goal for Slovakia after three minutes, which was the result of an excellent move. Vladimir Weiss worked up a turn of speed down the right and his low cross was blasted confidently into the net by Filip Sebo, who netted his sixth international goal in just ten games.

The visitors did get their deserved equalizer on 27 minutes when Slovakia failed to deal with a corner and Haris Medunjanin took advantage to blast the ball home for his maiden international goal.

Lyon playmaker Miralem Pjanic then gave his side the lead less than five minutes after the break with a bullet header into the top corner as the visitors took advantage of their set-piece prowess.

Bosnia stretched further clear through their best player Edin Dzeko who latched on to a magnificent through-ball from Medunjanin to stroke the ball past Jan Mucha.

However, there was yet another twist in the tale in an entertaining game as Peter Gracjiar scored his first international goal with a thundering drive from just outside the penalty box. It was to prove a consolatory strike as Miroslav Karhan missed a golden chance in stoppage time in his 101st game for his country.
