Key players to watch for Gor Mahia against Leones Vegetarianos

Goal Kenya.
Goal parades some of the players who will play a key role for K’Ogalo in their Caf Champions League fixture on Saturday

  1. Goal Kenya.

    #1 Boniface Oluoch

It seems the veteran custodian is getting back to his best and has won coach Dylan Kerr over. Two clean sheets in as many competitive matches is prove enough that the Kenyan ace has a lot to give to the Green Army, especially in continental stage. The former Tusker FC custodian has to effectively command his eighteen yard box well and ensure no costly mistakes are committed. If K’Ogalo concedes, Oluoch will not be forgiven by the fans.

  2. Goal Kenya.

    #2 Godfrey Walusimbi

The Ugandan international has faced all sorts of wingers in his career as a footballer, and he is one of a few players, who will be depended on by coach Dylan Kerr. His intelligence on and off the ball is always second to none, and his work rate has always been impressive. The defender can also score when a perfect opportunity comes his way and can assist too.

  3. Goal Kenya.

    #3 Harun Shakava

The new Sheriff in town has started life relatively well. He has led his team to victories against bitter rivals AFC Leopards and Nakumatt. His main aim will be to help the team achieve what his predecessor could not do, get into the Group stages of Caf Champions League. He has already proved he can be relied on as a leader in all fronts. Lest you forget, his bullet header against rivals Ingwe gave Gor Mahia the KPL Super Cup.

  4. Goal Kenya.

    #4 Ernest Wendo

Wendo has always done all the donkey work and helped the team get positive results. But again, this is a different opponent and Wendo has to ensure he stops attacks from the middle and guards the back four. A match like this is won in the midfield and it means there is no room for complacency. Wendo has proven on most occasions that he can be relied on and all hopes of qualification to the next round is on this man's shoulder considering he will be the main link from defense to attack.

  5. Goal Kenya.

    #5 Humphrey Mieno

One of the most experienced lads in the Gor Mahia team and with his arrival, K’Ogalo faithful believe the midfield puzzle has been solved. He is one player, who can score from nothing as well as create scoring opportunities from nowhere. He has managed to convince a few Gor Mahia fans that he can fill the void left by one Khalid Aucho. The best way to win the remaining few hearts is by putting an excellent display on Saturday that will enable his side get an advantage ahead of the second leg.

  6. Goal Kenya.

    #6 Meddie Kagere

Kagere is expected to partner Jacques Tuyisenge up front as well as play as an attacking midfielder depending with how the coach will parade his side. The Rwandan star can switch to the left flank with Francis Kahata drifting to the attacking midfield role. All in all, expect magic from the player. His hunger and will to win might work to the advantage of his team.
