It’s not every day we get to mash up our love for music and soccer, but when the stars (and the setlist) align, we’re all in. And what better way to do that than to compare each NWSL team to a song from Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet lineup?
There’s ballads that scream emotion and bops to bust a move, and INDIVISA’s here to give each team their own Sabrina song from the setlist because, let’s be real, they all deserve their moment on stage.
Gotham FC – Taste
Sabrina Carpenter kicks off her tour with a bang, and like Sabrina says, “I leave quite an impression / Five feet to be exact,” Dunn’s presence on the pitch is unforgettable, all 5 '1 of her.
Houston Dash - Slim Pickins
Texas and country music? A match made in heaven. Just like Sabrina channels her country side in "Slim Pickins," the Dash bring that Southern grit to the pitch.
KC Current - Tornado Warning
KC sits right in the heart of the tornado belt, so this one is only right. Plus, the Current bring a storm of their own to the field.
Seattle Reign - Bed Chem
“Who’s the cute boy with the white jacket and the thick accent?” More like, “Who’s the midfield maestro with the white uniform and the thick accent?” Reign’s Jess Fishlock, everybody. We love that Welsh accent.
Angel City FC - Feather
Light as air, but always ready to strike, this team knows how to fly high. Just go check out their mascot, and this one makes perfect sense.
Washington Spirit - Fast Times
Croix Bethune blazed through the NWSL, becoming the quickest player to rack up 8 assists, making “Fast Times” the perfect anthem for the Spirit.
Orlando Pride - Sharpest tool
Orlando Pride are not just playing the game; they’re outsmarting the competition at every turn. With Head Coach, Seb Hines, holding the reins, they seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed. They are in first place, after all.
North Carolina Courage - Coincidence
It’s no coincidence that the North Carolina Courage are back in the playoff mix; they might fly under the radar, but they know how to get the job done.
Utah Royals FC - Nonsense
As the newest team in the league, the Royals scream “You gotta keep up with me, I got some young energy.” But, they aren’t the only new kids in town.
Bay FC - Dumb & Poetic
You could call them dumb with this being their first season in the NWSL too, but can you think of anything more poetic than Abby Dahlkemper returning to play at home in the Bay?
Racing Louisville - Juno
In case you didn’t know, Racing Louisville became the first major league franchise in their home city in 41 years – and it makes us wanna, “Juno”.
Portland Thorns - Please, Please, Please
“Please, please, please,” let Sophia Smith be back from her ankle injury in time for playoffs.
San Diego Wave - Don't Smile
We aren’t smiling because Alex Morgan announced her retirement. We are crying because it happened. OK – in all seriousness – she’s a legend, and we’re on our knees, grateful for everything she’s done for women’s soccer.
Chicago Red Stars - Espresso
I mean, if you can’t connect the dots on this one, we don’t know what to say. Mal Swanson? Triple Espresso? Yeah. And there you have it — the best collab of the century. This is our petition to have Sabrina Carpenter perform at the NWSL championship match in November. Please, please, please.
