Former USWNT player Heather O'Reilly joins Como 1907 Football Club as an advisor

Heather O'Reilly, one of the most decorated members of the USWNT, will take on a new quest as an advisor for the Como 1907 Football Club women's team.

The club is coming off of a successful season, clinching first place and a promotion to the Eccellenza championship. The team finished with 19 wins, and an impressive 58 points. The hope for the women's side is to eventually reach Serie A, a path the men's side did coming up as underdogs.

O'Reilly has more than 200 caps with the USWNT, and will be a major piece to the success of the Como 1907 women's team. O'Reilly has three Olympic gold medals, and was part of the U.S. team that claimed the World Cup in 2015. O'Reilly has also played for Arsenal and spent time in the NWSL playing for the North Carolina Courage.

Her entire journey with Como 1907 will be covered as a documentary series. O'Reilly said that the undertaking will be larger than just football.

“This is more than just a football story; it’s a narrative of passion, resilience, and the pursuit of greatness,” said O’Reilly in a statement. “Como 1907 has a rich history and an incredible fan base, and I’m honored to be part of this journey. I carry a player mentality and I know what it takes to make a dressing room successful. Together, we’ll strive to reach new heights and make history. I am excited to get going and work with the players and the coaching staff.”
