Former U.S. women's national team defender, Kelley O'Hara will be recognized during halftime of the USWNT's friendly vs. Iceland. The USWNT play Iceland in a pair of friendlies in October, with O'Hara to be recognized on the Oct. 27 match in Nashville, Tennessee.
O'Hara's contributions to the USWNT, as well as the professional game as a whole, are immense. On May 2 she announced it would be her final pro season with Gotham FC. For the USWNT, O'Hara played in every senior world championship from 2011-2023, and earned two World Cup titles and two Olympic gold medals.
For the USWNT, O'Hara finished her career with 160 caps, and chipped in 21 assists and 3 goals.
O'Hara recently was named to the Gotham FC's season-ending injury list, making her final appearance for the NJ/NY club on Sept. 8.
O'Hara has made numerous contributions to the NWSL, before even joining Gotham FC. She scored the game-winning goal in the Washington Spirit's dramatic extra time win over the Chicago Red Stars in the 2021 NWSL Championship, and in 2022 she joined Gotham FC.
