Football Australia chief gives Kerr update
Chelsea star close to return to action
Will hope to return for start of WSL season
WHAT HAPPENED?
Earlier this year, Kerr suffered a knee injury during Chelsea's winter training camp in Morroco. It was soon reported that the Australian had suffered from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. Seven months after her injury, Johnson has revealed that she is close to a return for the Blues.
Speaking to the media, Johnson said: “I’m in touch with Sam right now. She's obviously doing her rehab at the moment. She's close to getting back on the field for Chelsea and as soon as she’s available to come back into the team, we’re looking forward to welcoming Sam back in.
Chelsea will begin their 2024/25 season with a Women's Super League clash against Aston Villa on September 22 and Kerr will hope to be present on the field for the clash.
