Gotham FC also upset the Washington Spirit, converting three goals, including Esther Gonzalez' seventh in seven games this season.

    1Orlando Pride

    Prior Ranking: 3

    Result: Beat Angel City 3-2

Ramifications: The Orlando Pride had fans on the edge of their seat on Saturday night, falling behind to Angel City 2-0 at the half. In the second half, Carson Pickett entered the match and completely shifted the match, serving in two assists to combine for the equalizer and game-winner.

Marta scored the Pride's first goal of the match in the 71st minute, and reminded the entire stadium that they were 2024 Shield and NWSL champions. The Pride had some questionable moments defensively that allowed two goals from Angel City early. However the way they bounced back and used their bench was a reminder of the dangerous squad that made history last season.
