NWSL and Nike unveil striking new kits for 2025 Season, featuring 'bold designs, vibrant colors'

The kit launch showcases kits that feature performance innovation with club-driven storytelling

  • WHAT HAPPENED

    The NWSL and Nike have unveiled a comprehensive collection of new kits for all 14 clubs ahead of the 2025 season. The release, primarily featuring secondary jerseys, showcases diverse designs that blend team identities with local inspirations.

    Not only that, the launch also includes updated goalkeeper kits and features 2024 expansion side Bay FC’s first NWSL kit.

    “This suite of jerseys, featuring bold designs, vibrant colors, and accompanying lifestyle products like the anthem jacket, represents another key step in growing the NWSL’s footprint within the global marketplace,” said Katie Eaton, NWSL vice president of consumer products. “As we continue to elevate our product offerings, we’re focused on blending sport and lifestyle in ways that authentically connect with players and fans alike.”

  • ANGEL CITY FC

    'Los Angeles', the 2025 secondary jersey, is Angel City's love letter to Los Angeles, featuring an intricate toile pattern reflecting the city's diversity and resilience. The jersey showcases beloved LA landmarks and symbols, with color blocking on sleeves and neckline in Sol Rosa and Asphalt, giving a vintage look. It includes a custom "Los Angeles" outer pride mark, celebrating the unity of cultures and communities.

    BAY FC

    Bay FC's two new kits represent the Bay Area's diversity and landscape. The secondary kit updates the inaugural white kit with Poppy trim, Silver, and bold linear graphics. The primary kit features Bay's blue with Poppy accents. Nine lines symbolize the nine Bay Area counties, flowing together to represent unity. The design's color and texture variations reflect the region's landscapes, from fog to waters.

    CHICAGO STARS FC

    The secondary kit embodies a menacing alter ego for opponents as its sleek, dark design with liquid metal-like patterns symbolizes relentless intensity and adaptability. The jersey features the new Chicago Stars crest, representing a new chapter for the team.

    HOUSTON DASH

    For the first time, the Dash wear purple, signifying a new chapter as the kit represents organizing chaotic energy into a cosmic storm, aiming to "Go Beyond" and create new stars in Houston. It features a tonal secondary crest mark and the pride mark "H-Town Hold It Down."

    KANSAS CITY CURRENT

    This first-ever full teal kit from the Kansas City Current features a map view of Kansas City and the Missouri River. The crest sits over CPKC stadium's location, the world's first purpose-built stadium for professional women's sports. The pride mark reads "Teal Rising."

    The 2025 secondary kit reflects Gotham FC's grit, resilience, and ambition. Inspired by their New Jersey/New York home, it embodies pride and individuality, and thus the design includes a tonal crest, matte and shine finishes, and inset knit tape detailing for a premium, modern look.

    NORTH CAROLINA COURAGE

    "The Believe Kit" embodies North Carolina as 'The Place to Be.' It features subtle rosette patterns symbolizing lionesses' power and grace. The concept likens the team to lionesses - fierce protectors and symbols of female empowerment. The pride mark "Esse Quam Videri" reflects the state motto.

  • ORLANDO PRIDE

    Inspired by the 2016 original jersey, 'The Decennial Kit' sports Orlando's base purple with Eola Blue accents while an iridescent crest nods to 2024's NWSL Shield and Championship wins. It features elements from some of Orlando's best kits over the last decade, the NWSL Championship gold star, and a 10th-season wordmark.

    The new kit celebrates Portland's community spirit as dark black symbolizes strength and unity, while glowing reds represent the team's burning passion. The pride mark "Onward Rose City" captures collective determination, emphasizing the team's family-like unity.

    RACING LOUISVILLE FC

    "The Roots Kit" symbolizes Louisville's relentless togetherness and it features a subtle Lilly pattern, dark monochromatic greens for harmony, and mint green accents. The design reflects Louisville's tree canopy diversity, emphasizing collective strength. The kit also features the club's primary sponsor, GE Appliances, in bold white lettering across the center of the chest with the club's logo on the left.

    SAN DIEGO WAVE FC

    The Altamar kit combines deep ocean blues and tidal teals, symbolizing the club's unstoppable energy. It complements the Del Sol Kit, representing sea to the primary kit's sun. The pride mark "Make Waves" encapsulates the team's spirit. San Diego Wave's primary sponsor, Kaiser Permanente, features across the center in white lettering while the club's logo is placed left off center.

    SEATTLE REIGN FC

    Featuring lines inspired by Seattle's skyline, the kit symbolizes upward aspiration. The "Rise" theme reflects the club's pursuit of excellence and community impact and the colors reinterpret classic Reign hues, emphasizing gold for optimism in this new chapter.

  • UTAH ROYALS FC

    Designed after the Great Salt Lake, the kit embodies Utah's color and terrain. It features the state-shaped secondary crest mark, and Utah is also partnering with the Great Salt Lake Water Trust for conservation efforts. The pride mark reads "One Utah" and is located on the bottom right of the kit while the club's primary sponsor, America First, is placed in the middle in bold yellow lettering.

    The Shockwave kit, in bold yellow, represents the Spirit's foundation-shaking, expectation-shattering energy. Inspired by fan support, its bright colors symbolize the electrifying match atmosphere. The design aims to visually represent the impact of the Spirit's play and supporter enthusiasm.

    WHAT’S NEXT?

    The release of the kits signifies that the NWSL season is closing in on fans as it returns to action on March 7 when reigning NWSL Champion Orlando Pride face last season’s Championship runner-up Washington Spirit in the 2025 NWSL Challenge Cup. Following that, the 2025 NWSL season kicks off a week later on March 15 when Orlando Pride host the Chicago Red Stars in the first game of the season.
